Axis instructors wrapped up an incredible two days of RTF - Integrated Active Threat Response training with the Westfield (IN) Fire and Police Departments.

We don’t always post about trainings, but this course brought together a truly professional group of responders, committed to building a coordinated and effective response to high-threat incidents. What stood out the most was the strong interagency relationship—fire and police working side-by-side, training together, learning together, and fully embracing an all-in mindset.

The support from both department administrations was outstanding, making it clear that these are progressive agencies invested in preparing their teams for the challenges of today’s world.

Proud to have played a part in this effort.

This is still an active situation and our hearts are broken for the loss of first responder lives. Evil is real and being manifest in this ambush of firefighters and responding officers. To all those caught up in this, stay safe and keep fighting the good fight! So many Americans are here to support you in this tragedy 🙏🏼💪🏼🇺🇸🫡

Last week several of our instructors were invited to teach Rescue Task Force (RTF) concepts at the Pre-Hospital Trauma Symposium sponsored by the FWFD, SWFD, Lutheran Health, and Allen County EMS. It’s always a privilege to work alongside fellow public safety professionals all coming together with one mission: saving lives in high-threat environments.

In these chaotic moments, success doesn’t come from complex strategies; it comes from being brilliant at the basics. Bleeding control, airway management, rapid extrication — simple skills, done flawlessly under pressure, make the difference between life and death.

That’s a wrap on our H.O.T class… Active Shooter Response for the First Due Company. We trained nearly 220 public safety personnel over two days on the Rescue Task Force and TECC. Huge thanks to my amazing instructor crew and our vendor support that made it all possible—couldn’t have done it without you. Appreciate everyone who showed up, trained hard, and brought their best.

We are headed back to the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) for our 9th year, presenting the 4-hour HOT class “Active Shooter Response for the First Due”.

I am always humbled to have our course selected. What an amazing event with over 40 thousand public safety professionals. A true honor to be working along side and teaching other like minded emergency responders wanting to make a difference!
