When making dietary choices, it is crucial to opt for foods rich in "good" unsaturated fats while limiting the intake of foods containing high amounts of saturated fat. It is advised to avoid the consumption of "bad" trans fats altogether. "Good" unsaturated fats, which include monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, have been shown to reduce the risk of developing certain diseases. Some examples of foods rich in unsaturated fats include vegetable oils, such as olive, canola, sunflower, soy, corn, nuts, seeds, and fish. It is essential to remember that the quality of fat consumed is just as important as the amount consumed.
