World Hunger Day is May 28th — a day dedicated to raising awareness about global food insecurity and the sustainable solutions that can help end hunger for millions around the world.
Founded in 2011 by The Hunger Project, World Hunger Day reminds us that hunger is not inevitable. Through community support, education, and sustainable development, real change is possible.
Today, nearly 2.4 billion people worldwide experience moderate or severe food insecurity, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. Even in developed nations, many families continue to struggle due to rising grocery costs, limited access to affordable food, and economic hardships.
This day serves as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful impact. Supporting local food pantries, donating meals, volunteering, or simply helping a neighbor in need can bring hope to someone facing uncertainty. ❤️
Dignity Memorial is proud to support efforts that strengthen and care for our community. Hunger affects families, children, seniors, and neighbors right here in Fort Wayne, and together we can help make a difference.
Help feed the hungry in our community by donating food or other needed items to local organizations making an impact every day, including Community Harvest Food Bank, Miss Virginia’s Food Pantry, Wellspring Interfaith Social Services, East Wayne Street Center, and The Lighthouse. These organizations continue to provide food, staples, resources, and hope to families throughout our community.
Together, we can help build stronger, healthier communities where no one has to wonder where their next meal will come from.
