The Quest for Excellence award is the highest level of recognition an ASC employee can receive, honoring those who exhibit a compassionate and dedicated approach that surpasses their typical job requirements.

It was a privilege to recognize the Veterans of Canterbury. We are especially grateful for the service of our Veterans who have served in all branches of the military, including our Maintenance Director and our DNS. Congratulations Mabelle Henkels, RN, our Quest for Excellence winner for 2025! We are looking forward to honoring this year's outstanding Quest Winners at the banquet on November 13 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.

The team at Canterbury Nursing is proud to recognize Mabelle Henkels as this year’s Quest for Excellence recipient. Mabelle has been part of the Canterbury team for the past five and a half years, and her journey within our community is a true reflection of her hard work, dedication, and passion for nursing.

Mabelle began her career with us as a Nurse Aide in Training (NAIT) in 2019 and has steadily advanced, becoming a CNA, then a QMA, and most recently, graduating from the RN program. Her career progression speaks volumes about her commitment to this profession and her desire to grow as a caregiver and leader.

Mabelle is an outstanding QMA who consistently demonstrates ASC’s CARE values — Compassion, Accountability, Relationships, and Excellence. Her strong work ethic and dedication to resident care are evident in everything she does. You will never find Mabelle idle, gossiping, or distracted — she is always actively engaged in resident care or tasks that directly impact the wellbeing of our residents. Her task-oriented approach, reliability, and focus on
doing what’s right for our residents make her a true asset to our team.

We are fortunate to have someone as hardworking, passionate, and driven as Mabelle as part of the Canterbury family. Her commitment to excellence and her residents makes her deserving of this prestigious award. Congratulations, Mabel, we are so proud of you!
