Anne Badrov has been a resident of our community for three years. Anyone who knew Anne back then would barely recognize her today—she has slowly come out of her shell. Anne once preferred staying in her room and did not participate in social activities. She was also totally dependent on assistance for all ADLs and mobility when she was first admitted.

Over the past two years, she has participated in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and wellness programs, making incredible progress. She is now able to walk short distances with staff supervision and no assistive device. Anne is also independent in using her motorized chair around the community. These days, you’ll often find her getting her hair done, participating in activities, visiting with friends, or working out with therapy and wellness staff.

Sheila came to Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center 7 months ago with a fractures of lower extremity following a fall. She was extremely debilitated and had a lot of pain. Initially, we had to motivate her to participate in therapy. She was unable to go home alone as it was not safe for her and chose to make Canterbury her new home.

We continued working with her in therapy and then with wellness. Slowly she was able to transfer better and start using the restroom after over 4 months. She currently has become more social, actively participates in activities and therapy and wellness. Sheila is currently working on walking with a walker in community again and safely managing steps so she can visit her family whenever she wants. Her birthday is coming up in a week and she is very excited for her celebrating it with her loved ones in community!
