National Association of Forensic Counselors

National Association of Forensic Counselors Multidisciplinary Certification Board for Forensic Counselors and Criminal Justice Professionals. www.ForensicCounselor.org

The National Association of Forensic Counselors was founded to develop a competent workforce to counsel, treat, evaluate, supervise and manage criminal offenders in the areas of addictions, criminal justice, mental health and corrections. The designations, standards and specialty professions of "Forensic Counselor" and "Criminal Justice Specialist" were originated by a multidisciplinary group of p

rofessionals from all over the USA, forming the National Association of Forensic Counselors (NAFC). The NAFC recognized that no standards or guidelines to treat and manage offenders were existent. The very first project for the newly formed NAFC was to develop standards and guidelines. Today, professionals holding NAFC certification are recognized for their training and competence in working with this specialized population. The National Association of Forensic Counselors is the first and largest independent multi-disciplinary credentialing board representing the Forensic Counselor, Criminal Justice Specialist, and the only National Multidisciplinary Board offering certification for Human Trafficking victims Services Professionals.
