Silver Birch 1st Annual Gorgeous Grandma Pageant! ✨

July 23 is dedicated to Gorgeous Grandma Day, and we are recognizing all the women who embrace the age of a grandma, whether they are grandmothers or not! Gorgeous Grandma Day embraces and encourages all women to flaunt their granny attitudes with purpose and style. 💃

These ladies were nervous and not quite sure about the end results of their makeover, but as you can see their smiles proved that a little help and encouragement can change your outlook and brighten your smile. 🥂

Thank you, to Franciscan Family Thrift Store they helped us with all the dresses provided, the ladies loved them all! 🪄

Yesterday our residents celebrated National Giving Day by having a Holly Jolly good time with a little Christmas celebration. 🎄🎅🏻☀️🏖️❄️
We enjoyed popsicles and exchanging gifts as we listened to Christmas music. What a fun and creative way to enjoy a summer day! 😎☀️

This week we are thrilled to highlight our life enrichment coordinator, Porsha.🩵

Porsha comes to us with a vast background in resident engagement. Working in multiple settings to help provide a fun and interactive community for her residents.
When asked why she chose her job, she stated that it brings her joy to be able to put a smile on the residents faces and to be able to build relationships with her residents.

At Silver Birch of Fort Wayne we are proud to have our very dedicated Gardening Club!🫛🥕🌶️🥬🍅🥦🌽
The members of this club plant flowers and vegetables of their choosing and ensure that they grow and thrive for all to enjoy. This year they have been challenged as it has been so hot, but nonetheless our plants are looking great and our residents have done an awesome job! 🩵

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful meal of ribs, mac n cheese, baked beans, potato salad and cookies all made by our phenomenal culinary staff!
Afterwards, we all went outside to enjoy some lawn games snd a cool off with snow cones.

Amy's journey in senior care began in a small Illinois town, where she was raised by her grandparents. Initially pursuing nursing, she discovered her true calling in serving the senior community—a path she's passionately followed ever since.

Amy's career is marked by remarkable growth, from leading a single assisted living community at 25 to overseeing operations across multiple states. Her commitment to making quality care accessible to all seniors, regardless of income, aligns perfectly with Silver Birch's mission to inspire purposeful lives for all.

Beyond her professional achievements, Amy is a devoted Christian, loving wife, proud mother of two, and doting "Oma" to her grandkids. She cherishes family time, enjoys traveling, and dedicates her free time to mission work.
