Please read this important notice. The closure of accredited free-standing birth centers in Indiana is so avoidable. And while I agree completely with this statement from Hoosier Midwives, there is something very important that's missing: hospitals. Insurance companies will readily pay hospitals literally 10 times what they will pay a free-standing birth center for the SAME birth. This is immoral. Why would they do that? Because the relationships between commercial health insurance plans and hospital systems is far too cozy and patients suffer as a result. If an insurance company agrees to compensate birth centers properly, it might "damage" their relationship with hospitals. If you get your insurance through your employer demand that your employer demand that the insurance company include free-standing birth centers as an option...and that they compensate birth centers fairly. This is critical in keeping birth centers open and providing families with the choices they deserve.

We’ve had patients deliver in their car and keep driving to us.
We’ve had families check out of the ER - baby already here, everyone healthy - and come straight to for postpartum care.

We’ve had a baby born in a hotel while the family was waiting to come in. I got to go to the hotel myself, rally everyone together, and bring them back.

Here’s the thing: if baby comes early and everything is okay, skip the EMS call if you feel safe, skip the hospital, and come to us. You’ll be on the phone with a midwife the whole way. She’ll help you figure out if it’s safe or if you need to be somewhere else.

The birth center isn’t just a place to deliver. It’s the best place to be postpartum. And we want you here.

I talked about what happens with our accidentally adventurous families and so many more big questions on All Things Women’s Health with my wife and midwife extraordinaire Marianne. Comment PODCAST and I’ll send you a link for the full episode!

Healthcare is broken in so many ways, and if you’re a physician, you already know exactly what I mean.

At , no one’s chasing you about productivity metrics. No one’s telling you where to refer your patients. No one’s asking you to justify a day off.

We’re an independent, private women’s health practice. We run our business. We make our schedules. We take care of our patients the way they deserve.

If that sounds like the practice you’ve been looking for — comment YES below and I’ll reach out.

The pitch sounds good at first - big salary, no business headaches, just show up and practice medicine. But nobody tells you what comes next: the production quotas, t administrator sign-offs, the slow realization that you’re working harder every year just to maintain a lifestyle that was never really yours to begin with.

At , we do things differently. We’re an independent, private OBGYN practice. We make our own decisions about our work, not what someone in a corner office decides for us. And we get to practice medicine the way we were trained to: putting patients first, every time.

If you’re a physician who’s starting to feel the walls closing in, or a new grad who wants to build something real, this is your sign.

Comment YES below and I’ll reach out personally.

Most OBGYNs went into medicine to take care of patients. Somewhere along the way, the system convinced them that working for a hospital was the only option.

It’s not.

At FMCC, we’re independent. That means our loyalties aren’t split between a patient’s birth plan and a hospital’s reimbursement schedule. We do what’s right for the woman in front of us, every time.

If you’re an OBGYN who’s tired of practicing medicine by committee, I want to talk to you.

“Women are dying, women are dying.”

That claim has been repeated constantly since Dobbs.
So what does the actual research say?

States with abortion bans showed no statistically significant difference in pregnancy-related maternal deaths compared to states without.

That’s not a political statement. That’s the data we have today.
Will more studies follow? Yes. But this is the science we follow right now.

No license. No credentials. No accountability. 11 million followers.

This is the state of medical advice on the internet and it’s dangerous. Unqualified “health gurus” giving advice with no evidence is wrong and reckless.

It could cost people their lives.

Doctors are bound by rules, regulations, and licensing boards. Influencers aren’t. And people are paying the price.

The drug that blocks progesterone to end a pregnancy is the same reason your OB should be checking your progesterone to save one.

The abortion pill blocks progesterone. Why? Because we know that progesterone matters in pregnancy.

After a positive IVF pregnancy test, they flood the mom with progesterone. Why? Because we know that progesterone matters in pregnancy.

So why is it so hard to get your OB to check yours in early pregnancy? Why do so many OBs still dismiss low progesterone as a cause of miscarriage?

Your pregnancy is a prize pregnancy too. And you deserve a provider who will treat it that way.

If your provider won’t test your progesterone, find one who will — or call our practice. We can help.
