Your “due date” isn’t a deadline, it’s a window of time when you can expect to have your baby.

If you’re pregnant or planning to be, this is crucial information that could help you avoid an unnecessary cesarean section.
Your due date represents 40 weeks, and that’s just the statistical midpoint of a healthy full-term pregnancy, which ranges from 38 to 42 weeks. All of those weeks are considered normal and safe for delivery.

When we treat the due date as a hard deadline, it creates pressure to intervene with induction simply because you’ve reached 40 weeks. And intervening too early significantly increases your chances of ending up with a C-section.

Unless there’s a medical reason to induce, being “past your due date” at 40 weeks and a few days is completely normal.
Don’t fall for the due date mythology. Your baby will come when they’re ready—anywhere in that 38-42 week window.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest Physical Therapist, John Straessle. We are excited to welcome him into the FMCC family!

John shared this about himself: “This was also when I had an epiphany that there was more to treatment than just addressing an injury and the associated pain that accompanies it. I realized, that as a physical therapist, my treatment philosophy needed to create an environment for healing which does not just encompass treatment of the injury but rather treatment of the whole person. I then made the decision to take a step further and adopt the philosophy of Doctor Patch Adams ‘If you treat a diagnosis you win and you lose, but if you treat a person I guarantee you that you will win every time.’ This profession has been a blessing to me in many ways and as I reflect on my career I see how God’s hand was in all of this.”

An IVF clinic told my patient we practice “fake medicine.” This is what they think a “fake” practice looks like.

If treating endometriosis,PCOS, and male infertility isn’t real fertility medicine, then what is?

There’s nothing “fake” about restorative reproductive medicine, unless getting to the cause of infertility and treating that cause is fake.

Our Mission

To care for women and their families in a way that is scientifically and morally sound, while respecting a woman’s ability and right to manage her health, pregnancy care, and birth experience to the extent she desires. To accomplish this, we utilize the expertise of both Obstetricians/ Gynecologists and Certified Nurse-Midwives in a fully integrated model of care that allows both groups of professionals to offer their very best. The result: patients and their families receive personalized, comprehensive care they simply cannot receive in any other model of care.

We are an authentically pro-life practice. As part of our vision, we utilize Creighton Fertility Model/NaProTECHNOLOGY™ and therefore do not prescribe artificial contraceptives, place IUD’s, perform sterilization procedures, refer for in-vitro fertilization (IVF), or refer for or participate in pregnancy termination (abortion) under any circumstance.

We believe our practice is most certainly and purposefully different from most. It is not our desire to care for everyone, but to care for everyone that needs our unique approach to care. We believe unencumbered access to our providers is a key component to our successful outcomes. As such our patients are encouraged to communicate with us directly via the means that works best for them including cell phone, email, and text messaging. We believe it is an honor to serve as partners with our patients in their healthcare and we do everything possible to treat the sanctity of that relationship with the respect it deserves.
