We are so grateful that you all came out to visit the cemetery over the past few days. Thank you to our team for being here to care for the families. Our grounds team - Juan, Eliot and Gabe made sure the grounds were in beautiful shape. Our administrative team Dee and Maddi welcomed you all at the gates and provided flags and information about upcoming events as well of wreath sponsorships. Our family care team Jeanne and Brenda were on the grounds all day helping you locate your loved ones. Our GM Amber made sure it all went as smoothly as possible manning the phones to assist call in and walk in families. None of us could do this without the rest of our team. Though we are all are quite different, every day we come together every day to care for your loved ones and our community. This is our favorite weekend of the year and we are honored to share it with you.

We were honored when Randolph Harter and Daniel Baker inquired about creating an updated version of the "Pioneers Resting at Historic Lindenwood" book. The time that Randy and Dan invested in this project was unreal and the finished product is absolutely beautiful! We want to thank you both for capturing the beauty of Lindenwood within these 109 pages.

If you are interested in purchasing a copy from Amazon, please click below. The cemetery will not benefit from the sale of this publication; we simply want to share the beautiful piece of work that has been created.

Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is one of the state's earliest examples of large park-like burial grounds. Established in 1859, it followed in the footsteps of the great "rural" or "garden" cemeteries Père Lachaise in Paris (1804) and Mount Auburn in Cambridge, Massachusetts (1831). S.....

We love that you all enjoy coming out to visit us to do you favorite hobbies. From photography, cycling, running, walking your dogs to geocaching. We are now adding drone flying to the list.

Unfortunately, we believe a drone pilot inadvertently hit a tree in Garden of Meditation. The drone was not found but the battery was near the trunk. FWFD believes the battery was in the branches and it sparked starting a fire. The branch then fell and so did the battery.

We appreciate you coming out and enjoying the cemetery. We do ask that you keep drones in open air, away from the trees.

Due to safety concerns, we have no choice but to remove this beautiful tree.

Thank you to for taking care of this so quickly!

John shared this stunning photo with us! This Norway Spruce is in section Q. Fun fact - Did you know that a Norway Spruce is annually selected to be the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center in New York City. A Rockefeller Center tree has never been selected from Indiana, but we are partial to this one so it will have to stay right here with us! We are grateful that you shared this photo with us.

The Crabapple tree in West Terrace caught Lisa's eye when it was in full bloom. She shared that a few days later, all the blooms were almost gone. We have a variety of Crabapples throughout the cemetery and they all bloom once and then are green or brown for the rest of the year. We are so glad you captured this at its prime! Thank you for entering!

Full disclosure*** the photo that Jan sent in of this Norway Spruce had to be cropped. This tree is absolutely majestic! It is in Garden 26 Extended and is absolutely massive. Jan's original photo had more of the sky and more of the road, but Facebook wouldn't let me trim it down to make it work. Thank you so much for capturing this photo and sharing it with us!

The Willows at Lindenwood are Trisha's favorite. She entered this photo and we were instantly blown away! It is amazing how many shades of green can be captured in one image. The Willows are located to the right immediately through the entrance here at Lindenwood. They have been the backdrop for a variety of photo sessions and we are so grateful that you shared this beautiful image with us!
