🏈The Yard returns THIS SATURDAY!🏈

The Yard is OPS Football's beginner-level football training program that focuses on teaching basic principles of the game to kids ages 4-9.

From drills and skill work to loose scrimmages, The Yard puts a focus on fun as an entryway into the sport.

Cost is $80 for the program, which is held on Saturday mornings at OPS Ash Center, 1701 Freeman St. All kids will receive a t-shirt at the conclusion of the session!

Evaluation Day for the Spring session of the OPS Res League will be held this Saturday!

OPS Rec League prioritizes learning the game, evening teams' talent as much as possible and equal playing time.

Age groups include:

- 7-8
- 9-10
- 11-12
- 13-14

Note: All age divisions are COED.

Practices and games will be held on Saturdays, with times of each division as follows:

Age 7-8: 9 to 10 a.m.
Age 9-10: 10 a.m. to noon
Age 11-12: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Age 13-14: 1 to 2 p.m.

Siblings and kids of coaches get 50% off the registration fee!

As is customary each session of the OPS Rec League, we honored one player in each age division with the REP THE O award.

We started the honor in 2022, shortly after the loss of one of our own, Owen Scheele, to an accelerated case of chronic myeloid leukemia.

This award is not performance-based, but rather focuses on sportsmanship, hard work, good conduct, teamwork and growth through the game of football.

Each team nominated one player, and the OPS Football staff chose the winner in each age division.

This is bigger than any title or championship, and we congratulate the winners and hope they continue to be a positive influence inside and outside of OPS!

Age 7-8: Gianni Baker, Hawkeyes
Age 9-10: Samuel Hogue, Tar Heels
Age 11-12: Karsyn Swick, Ducks
Age 13-14: Onik Denton, Longhorns

We capped off another successful OPS Rec League session last Saturday as we crowned champions of Winter II at the Ash Center.

Congratulations to our champions!

Age 7-8: Boilers 14, Hawkeyes 6

Age 13-14: Sooners 28, Broncos 21

Our Spring session, held on the turf at Shields Field on the campus of Bishop Dwenger HS, will begin with Eval Day on Saturday, April 11.

The end of an era...after more than 10 years with OPS, Eli is embarking on an exciting new chapter as the full-time strength coach for Fort Wayne FC.

It's impossible to put into words just how much she's meant to our OPS family. Her dedication, energy, and heart have touched so many lives here, and while we're sad to see her go, we couldn't be prouder of this next step in her journey.

If Eli has made a difference in your life or your athlete's journey, we'd love for you to share your favorite memories and best wishes below. Let's send her off with all the love she deserves!
