At Heartland Hospice, we believe in making every moment count—and today, we got to help make Jody's day unforgettable.

Our sweet patient, Jody, had a simple wish: to go to her appointments in style! Thanks to the loving coordination and Heartwork of Heartland Hospice Clinical Liaison Jada, LPN, her dear friend and coworker Bridget from Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehab, and our wonderful limo driver Denny, Jody was chauffeured around town like the true queen she is—complete with a fully stocked bar of her favorite treats! 💕🚘🍬🍷

This is just one of many stories that make our hearts beat stronger for what we do at Heartland Hospice. Hospice is about living life to the fullest and making every moment count.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Hospice Chaplain, Karla 🌟

At Heartland Hospice, we believe that caring for our patients means seeing them as whole person -- not just a physical body, but also an emotional and spiritual being. This is why our hospice chaplains are so deeply valued.

Today, we’re honored to shine a light on Karla, one of our compassionate hospice chaplains. With grace, empathy, and a listening heart, Karla walks alongside patients and families during some of life’s most tender moments. She reminds us all that healing isn’t always about curing — sometimes it’s about being present, offering peace, and honoring each person’s unique spiritual journey.

💬 In Karla’s words:
"Becoming a hospice chaplain has been the most unexpected joy of my life and ministry. God planted the call to pastor people deep in my heart at my baptism as an infant. It has been an honor to companion people and their families in the last part of their journeys.

I always recommend hospice care as early as possible upon a terminal diagnosis when aggressive treatment is neither wanted nor warranted. The excellent care that each nurse, aide, social worker, nurse practitioner, and chaplain at Heartland Hospice provides to each patient and family is truly exceptional, compassionate, and personal.

It is a privilege and delight to be surrounded by such amazing people and to call several of them my dear friends at Heartland!"
