Celebrating Zane’s Journey at Glenbrook Rehabilitation!

Zane Stearns came to Glenbrook following a below-the-knee amputation on one leg and a partial foot amputation on the other, due to medical complications. When he arrived, he relied on our care team for all daily activities, including getting out of bed and into his wheelchair.

It was the beginning of a challenging journey — from post-amputation rehab to receiving prosthetics for both legs. But through it all, Zane remained determined and positive. He worked tirelessly with our therapy team and prosthetists, steadily gaining strength and mobility.

A true sports enthusiast, Zane loved chatting about his favorite teams with therapists and fellow residents, keeping spirits high throughout his stay. With dedication and hard work, he progressed to walking again with a walker and even mastered navigating stairs!

We’re thrilled to share that Zane has returned home to his second-floor apartment in the community. We wish him all the best!

Our Story

Caring people make the difference at Glenbrook Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. You can feel it the minute you walk into our community and meet our staff. They are experts in senior care who are not just doing a job, but following a calling. They are here to help you and your family find answers, solutions and peace of mind. In fact, they become an extension of your family. We are located just south of Coliseum Blvd. E. across from the Allen County War Memorial and just north of Downtown Fort Wayne. Friends and family members are encouraged to visit loved ones. Take a day trip downtown and enjoy the city! We are also close to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo and several parks, including Johnny Appleseed Memorial Park, Bob Arnold Northside Park and Vesey Park. Seniors will feel safe and at home with our personalized rehabilitation, nursing, long-term, respite and hospice care programs. Accepting Medicare, Managed Care and Private Insurances, our specialists will help you understand your benefits. We also accept Medicaid and can help with the application process.
