📣 Let us introduce you to our August 2025 Employee of the Month - Lauren Balog | Receptionist. Lauren was nominated for our of Important vs. Necessary. Lauren has worked for Park Place Senior Living for 1️⃣ year!
Lauren grew up in Greyslake, IL. She lived there for 20 years, moving to California and Virginia before landing here in Fort Wayne in 2017. Lauren is married to her husband Taylor of 4 years. They have 2 children (Russel - 3 1/2 years old + Trevor 1 1/2 years old) as well as 2 dogs (Bandit + Sandy). When Lauren is not here at Park Place Senior Living, she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, being outdoors, and going out to eat and/or shopping. Lauren also shared with us that she has 5 college degrees!
We asked Lauren what she loves about her job here at Park Place Senior Living and she shared; “Getting to be a part of an amazing team! I love my co-workers and residents. It feels like they are my second family.” Memorable experiences Lauren shared with us include getting to bring her family into the community for our Family Nights and events. She loves getting to have our residents meet her children that they have spent time talking about together.
We are proud to recognize Lauren for exemplifying our Core Value of Important vs. Necessary. While the front desk comes with countless necessary duties; phone calls, paperwork, scheduling, and day-to-day tasks - Lauren consistently goes above and beyond to prioritize what truly matters: our residents and their families. She takes time to greet every resident with warmth, makes families feel welcome the moment they walk through the door, and never lets the busyness of her responsibilities overshadow the importance of human connection. Her abilities to balance the “necessary” while always making room for the “important” interactions sets the tone for our community and makes a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve. Thank you Lauren, for reminding us all that while tasks keep us running, it’s the people that make us thrive. ❤️
