We are celebrating Jackie Bobel as our Resident of the Month!
Jackie has lived in many cities and towns throughout her adventurous life. Even growing up, she attended many different schools, including three different one-room schoolhouses that had pot-bellied stoves, outhouses, and a pump for water! She graduated from Auburn HS in 1958.
For many years, Jackie worked a variety of different jobs in restaurants. Among other positions, she was a dishwasher at 12 years old, waitressed at Hall’s Gas House (which she loved), and later served as a trainer at Azar’s for many locations. Along the way, she had three children and experienced the ups and downs of life. Eventually, she met her third husband, Jerry, who turned out to be the absolute love of her life! She says he’s the best thing that ever happened to her. They had 25 wonderful years together before Jerry passed in 2014. She still misses him daily, but will never forget him or the adventures they had and the memories they made together.
Jackie enjoys life and has many interests, but one of her big loves is crafts and sewing. She spent many hours of her life creating items like angels, hats, clothing, and more - both for her own enjoyment and for selling at craft fairs and other venues. Cooking is another big love, especially country-style cooking. Sunday meals were a big deal in her home, and she enjoys showing love through cooking for her family and loved ones. She also follows baseball and is a big Cleveland Indians fan!
Although Jackie is newer to our Heritage Park family, she jumped right in here, attending bingo, crafts, parties, and meeting new friends. In quieter moments, you might find her doing word searches, Sudoku, or adult coloring pages in her room.
We’re so happy to have Jackie with us at Heritage Park!
