Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN), often called the “suicide disease,” is a chronic pain condition affecting the trigeminal nerve, which carries sensation from your face to your brain. Even mild stimulation, like brushing your teeth or applying makeup, can trigger excruciating pain.
Symptoms Include:
• Sudden, severe, stabbing or shock-like facial pain
• Episodes lasting from a few seconds to several minutes
• Pain that worsens over time
Did You Know?
Though it’s rare, TN can occur in individuals of any age, with women and those over 50 being at higher risk.
