Have you been using medication to ease your pain? Are you experiencing side effects such as fatigue, decreased s*x drive, and reduction of lean muscle mass? If this sounds like you, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may help.

Various pain medications can suppress the release of the primary hormone (GnRH) produced in the hypothalamus. This, in turn, suppresses release of hormones from the pituitary gland, and the s*x organs directly. The result? Deficient testosterone production and what is termed hypogonadism.

Call our team at 817-677-9535 if you’d like to schedule an appointment to discuss the benefits of HRT.

“Emerging research shows there are alternatives for alleviating chronic pain, such as practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness meditation, which is practiced by encouraging the detached observation of sensory events, could improve the quality of life for individuals living with chronic pain.”

This article from Medical News Today details the findings of an important clinical trial pertaining to chronic pain: https://bit.ly/3Bkvme2

New research suggests that mindfulness meditation reduces the intensity of pain by uncoupling the pain-processing part of the brain from the brain regions responsible for self-referential processing.

Many people use medication to treat chronic pain, particularly when other forms of treatment haven’t been successful. Although this can be a helpful way to cope with the daily battle of pain and discomfort, there may be unpleasant side effects. One common issue we see in men is a drop in testosterone, leading to fatigue, decreased s*x drive, and loss of lean muscle mass.

At DFW Spine Joint & Pain, we use hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to treat patients suffering from these side effects. Have questions about this type of treatment? Schedule an appointment to learn more about whether you may be a good candidate for HRT.

Are you interested in learning more about hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?

Hormones naturally function in a healing way throughout the human body. Unfortunately, frequent use of pain medication can disrupt this harmony, especially in men. Low testosterone is examined in many of these cases, leading to even more unwanted symptoms.

Our team is now treating a side effect of common pain medication use, the potential reduction of testosterone. This can lead to symptoms like fatigue, decreased s*x drive, and reduction of lean muscle mass.

Pain medications can suppress the release of the primary hormone (GnRH) produced in the hypothalamus. This, in turn, suppresses release of hormones from the pituitary gland, and the s*x organs directly. This results in deficient testosterone production and what is termed hypogonadism.
