With his permission, we are so excited to celebrate that one of our patients, Kenny, moved into housing last week! He has stayed outside by the Trinity River in Fort Worth for years. We know that housing will contribute an immense amount to his health and wellbeing. Congratulations, Kenny, on your new home!

Continuing our series this month: Nicole Lee, LMSW, started working at Street Medicine in October 2015. For the last six years, she has worked tirelessly to provide case management for patients with complex needs. She developed initiatives to increase Suboxone and Hep C treatment, and access to PrEP. She is a strong advocate for implementing harm reduction for patients.

More than 50% of unhoused women are survivors of domestic violence.

This month we'll be highlighting different ASM team members by exploring what they take with them every day to do outreach to patients on the streets, in the woods, and all over Tarrant County!

Alicia Coomes is the Mobile Health RN for Acclaim Street Medicine. For twelve plus years she has done outreach to people experiencing homelessness. Alicia has provided health education at Presbyterian Night Shelter, True Worth Clinic, and now, on the streets with ASM. She is always prepared for anything and is a strong advocate for patients.

We are so proud to be part of a community working toward housing--shoutout to all the outreach workers, case managers, leaders, administrators, construction workers, contractors, and city officials who made this possible!

The first day of September, outreach crews moved the first 14 tenants into three completed and fully furnished fourplexes. Some of the new residents were in temporary housing, but most were still unsheltered, living outdoors.

For those experiencing homelessness: if you still need your Hep A vaccine, we'll be at True Worth Place on Lancaster tomorrow with Tarrant County Public Health!
