Happy Long Term Care Administrator Week to our wonderful administrator, Lydia! 🎉

We are proud to recognize our amazing Administrator, Lydia Messina! Lydia began her journey as the Social Worker at GCC from 2019–2022 before completing her AIT at GCC and transferring to Cherokee Rose as Administrator. She proudly earned her license in 2023 and has now been back at Estates for a year!

Lydia has also been awarded Best Customer Service for Estates Healthcare, which comes as no surprise to anyone who knows her. She is always there for our staff, residents, and their families—jumping in to help in any department whenever needed.

Every morning she brings positivity to our building with her famous line:
“Have a good day if you want to!” 😊

Today we are proud to recognize our Social Worker Queen for Social Worker Month! 👑💚

Her passion for social work began from a deeply personal experience. In 2006, after her mother was diagnosed with cancer and placed on hospice services, she and her family were shown incredible kindness and compassion by a social worker. That moment changed her life and inspired her to pursue a career where she could make that same difference for others.

She went on to graduate with a Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2011, and in 2012 began her career with Adult Protective Services, where she served the community with dedication until 2024. Shortly after, she transitioned into long-term care, where she says she truly found her safe space. While some days can be challenging, she knows the work she does matters and that she is making a meaningful difference in the lives of others every single day.

⭐ She loves true crime
⭐ And she enjoys reading a good thriller

We are incredibly grateful to have such a compassionate, dedicated, and inspiring professional on our team. Thank you for the heart you bring to the residents, families, and staff at Estates Healthcare for the last year. You truly make a difference! 💚

We would like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate our amazing Estates Residents Council President, Dixie!

Dixie has been part of the Estates community since November 2024 and has proudly served as our Residents Council President since October 2025. In that time, she has truly become the heart and voice of our building.

She is deeply committed to representing our residents, always taking the time to listen to everyone’s opinions and concerns on all topics. Dixie works tirelessly to help our community find solutions and consistently stays on top of the issues that matter most to us.

What makes Dixie especially remarkable is that her care extends beyond just residents — she values and supports our staff just as much. Her kindness, positivity, and willingness to lend a helping hand make her a joy to see around the building every day.

✨Therapy in Action✨

Ms. Smith is participating in occupational therapy today! She is using the parallel bars along with the aerobic step.

While the aerobic step challenges her balance for independence with ADLs and functional task, the parallels assist with her maintaining her balance.
This activity benefits all of our residents, no matter if they are amputees learning to stand again with prosthetics, stroke, survivors, or just weak.
Ms. Smith gets stronger every day and we see it in her little trips to play bingo! Keep up the great work 💪🏽
