⚡️FOOD ADDICTION ⚡️

Food addiction is characterized by:
- COMPULSIVE consumption of palatable foods, which activates the reward system DESPITE adverse affects.

This looks like:

▪️Craving/binging unhealthy foods without feeling hungry

▪️An inability to resist the urge to eat certain foods

▪️Spending excessive amounts of time thinking about food or anticipating it’s emotional effects

Ever wonder why you could stop eating, or why you felt driven to eat things you didn’t want?

Most people automatically assume that those who struggle with food dependency lack willpower, or that they need to eat less and exercise more.

However — changing what and how you eat usually takes more than good intentions or a strong will.

When you have an emotional attachment to food, eating certain foods causes a biochemical reaction within the brain - making “trigger foods” that much harder to abstain from.

THIS DOESN’T MEAN IT ISN’T POSSIBLE TO CHANGE!

Because it is. I’m living proof that:

✨Freedom is possible.

✨Recovery is possible.

✨A healthy relationship with food is possible.

Most importantly: living a long + healthy life with your loved ones is possible.

And I want to help you!

There are few things I’m more passionate about than helping women -

• find freedom in their relationship to food + body

• develop a food plan that works for them

• Work through emotional issues that may stand in the way of their health + fitness goals

I know it’s possible because of my own personal journey — but I’ve also seen COUNTLESS stories of success.

You aren’t too far out of reach. You never will be!

Let’s start building a healthier, happier you!

I don’t know when it happened…

But one day I woke up and realized that food had become my #1 coping mechanism for dealing with life.

For a stocky & untrained 5’5 frame, 270 lbs is a lot to carry.

I didn’t look good.

I certainly didn’t feel good.

But food for comfort was all I’d known.

Here’s the thing, tho — I had no idea where to start.

All I knew was that things needed to change.

Something I’ve learned well into my coaching practice is the MORE a client needs to change, the LESS they can handle in a given amount of time.

In other words — the more that’s put on our plate, the likelier we are to freak out and sabotage.

It’s SMALL changes over time that build long-term success.

That’s why we aim for the 1%.

However, I didn’t know this all those years ago.

All I could see was how much I needed to change.

So, I attempted to make massive change all at once… and failed.

And failed.

And failed.

I chased my tail for YEARS before realizing…

Long-lasting transformation IS possible.

Transformation is found in the JOURNEY, not the end result.

Living a long + healthy life with your loved ones is also possible— and I want to help you get there!

We’re better together, friend. 🤍

Hey. :)

Pull up a chair and let’s chat.

What I’m about to tell you isn’t marketable or easy or fun… but it’s the truth.

Your relationship with food is FAR more important than the number on the scale.

OK?

Your weight loss journey is not a “one and done” process.

It’s not “now or never.”

The more you try to speed things up, the further you’ll drive yourself away from your goal.

This gig takes time. A LOT of time.

Stop putting so much pressure on yourself to lose X amount of weight in an insanely short amount of time.

This is a “forever” kind of thing. The game never ends.

You WILL get better at it.

It will get easier.

You will get to a point where you don’t have to consciously have to think about it all the time.

However, at the end of the day — this is still a lifelong journey.

So, ENJOY IT. Invest in the process.

Give yourself the best opportunity to succeed.

I’m rooting for you. 🤍

Hi friends :)

It is NORMAL for your weight to fluctuate day-to-day.  There are so many factors that go into the number on the scale!

What we’re looking for is an overall downward trend on a weekly – or monthly – level.

Don’t freak when you see a spike in weight!  It’s likely water weight.

How do I know this? 👇🏼

We don’t gain fat mass that quickly.

Here’s the bottom line:

The scale is a TERRIBLE indicator of success in your weight-loss journey – especially after weight training is introduced.

I talk to women on a regular basis who admit to weighing MULTIPLE times a day.

Upon waking up.  Pre-meal.  Post-meal.  Before bed.

You name it.

I understand the desire to reach a goal weight…

But there’s really no greater deterrent in a WL journey than the scale.

This is why it’s SO IMPORTANT to have the right systems in place – because the scale WILL fluctuate – but ultimately, that means nothing if your body composition is changing.

RUN THE PLAY, FRIENDS. 🏈

▪️Take pictures
▪️ Measure
▪️ Prioritize sleep
▪️ Weight train
▪️ Eat protein
▪️ Drink enough water

If you are CONSISTENT, you WILL reach your goals – I promise. 👊🏼

Go win the day, fam!

Connecting the losses in your life to your addictive behaviors is imperative for success in your weight loss journey.

Why?

Think of it this way:

If you were battling an enemy, would you rather hide in plain sight or plan a surprise attack?

The enemy here being the loss-addiction cycle.

When the connections between your losses and your addiction become clear, you’ll be ready to confront them.

But if they continue to stay hidden, they’ll keep bombarding and manipulating you — and driving your decisions.

Sound familiar? 🤔

🔑 Turning to food as a coping mechanism won’t address your pain.

🔑 Food won’t change your circumstances.

Friend, I’m here to tell you…

You can’t avoid the pain forever.

Not if you’re serious about long-term success in your weight-loss journey.

This cycle may seem like an unbeatable opponent, but once you know what it’s up to & how it moves — you can easily defeat it.

❌ It will no longer be in charge.

👉🏼 YOU will be making the decisions in your life.

👉🏼 You will be in control.

To truly understand the loss-addiction cycle & how it has influenced you, take a look back.

How do your losses and addictive behavior interconnect?

If you create a L/A timeline, I’d love to hear from you. 🤍

Don’t be afraid to do the work. You’re worth it. 💜
If you’re curious about the loss-addiction cycle & the role it may play in your life, DM me “cycle” and I’ll send you a copy of my “Freedom from Addiction” PDF. 😘

Hi friends! Lots of new faces around here so I thought I’d introduce myself. ☺️

My name is Ashley, and I am a food dependency coach & licensed chemical dependency counselor. 😎

I’m also a powerlifter, which is my biggest passion.

In a sense, this sport saved me from who I COULD’VE been had I continued down the path I was going.

I abused my body for YEARS with food.

It was my coping mechanism throughout all the grief, trauma, and pain I’d experienced throughout my young adult years.

Honestly, there’s NO TELLING where I’d be right now without it. Powerlifting was the change agent I never knew I needed.

All glory to God for the healing and transformation that’s taken place. 🙌🏼

NOW I work with women who are looking to REGAIN control of their life and keep weight off long-term. 💪🏼

My program may be for you IF:

▪️You struggle with binge eating, emotional eating, or food-dependent behaviors
▪️You can’t kick the urge to eat comfort foods
▪️You are not clear on WHAT and HOW to eat to fuel your body
▪️ You notice some of your old eating patterns coming back
▪️ You need support reaching your goal weight
▪️ You’ve regained weight after WLS
▪️ You need support in managing cravings & emotional eating habits
▪️ You want to reverse lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and heart disease
▪️ You desire a community of likeminded people to grow alongside

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these, let’s CHAT! We may be the perfect fit for each other. 😘🥂

If you’d like to learn more, drop a “🔥” in the DM’s.

I’m rooting for you!

And remember: ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Healing is possible — and I am living proof! 🤍

Loved connecting with tonight to hear her struggles with dumping syndrome and discuss the importance of removing sugar from our diets.

This is important for EVERYONE — especially for those at risk of dumping syndrome post-WLS.

We’re starting our seven day sugar detox challenge this Wednesday 6/8 and would LOVE for you to join us! There will be a giveaway featured in the group and tons of great info and support for those looking at removing added sugars from their diet. (And no - it’s not a juice cleanse! 🙄)

Hope to see you there! XOXX
