It was our rebellion against God that caused His trouble. God, in His mercy and grace, sent us His the Son to be betrayed, beaten, and killed as the solution to the fearfully and wonderfully made problem... Humans.

Jesus suffered on the cross for our sake, because of us. It takes humility to acknowledge that it was our own sin that was pressed upon Him, and knowing His suffering to come, He willingly took the punishment that we deserved.

Researching this verse, a couple of things came to mind...

First: It’s done. He suffered to give us peace and to heal our wounds; to give us an everlasting healing of our spirit.

For the sins we commit against Him, we ask forgiveness. For the wrongs we do to others, we ask forgiveness.
..For the wrongs we do to ourselves, do we ask forgiveness? Give it a try.

We’re human. But we are also fearfully and wonderfully made; Psalm 139:14.

Give someone a break when you are afforded the divine opportunity to do so.

Most importantly, give yourself a break. Let your light shine with the freedom of being human, making mistakes, and being forgiven.

Second: If He, a mere man, would do that for us, for those who cursed Him and nailed him to a tree, for people he didn’t know and hadn’t met, for people then, now, and in the future, how much more can we do for each other?

Let go. Let God. And press on...
