For two years I have been waiting for this day!
Shane is being dedicated today! 🙏🏼
I can’t express the emotions I have felt since our pastors replied and said we can do it!

When we started this journey in Amarillo, I would watch Power Church online. I needed to know God was still there and Pastor Manny gave me just that! The good word, all the time. So we are so blessed to have him dedicated to the Lord by Pastor Manny and Power Church.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it," Proverbs 22:6

1. “Wow. You can’t catch a break can you?”
2. “How is your faith in God so strong when these things happen to you guys so often?”

Two of the most common things I hear from folks.

1. My break is that my son is alive and I get to spend each day with him. He is cognitively aware. He’s not wheel chair bound. He is funny, sweet, smart & sassy. My break is that I am able to care for him in such manner that keeps him safe and comfortable.
2. See #1.

Please keep Shane in your prayers.
He had a seizure this morning & we don’t have answers as to why.

We will update as we learn more.

God is in control. He did NOT bring us this far to only get us this far. ♥️🙏🏼

Something I noticed today, the difference!
4 months since our chemo treatments ended.
7 months since our transplant.
10 months since our diagnosis.

Shane is our warrior 💕

Today, we had our follow up scans of Shane’s abdomen and liver.
We got a call on the way home that Shane’s liver looks great, but his intestines look twisted.
So we are back at the hospital, getting more images and waiting to see if he possibly needs surgery.

God knows this boy is going to never let me sit down, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Please, if you have room in your nightly prayers, squeeze us in.

By the grace of God, we are home!
Preliminary results came back with no signs of rejection!
We have done every test and or imaging available and everything looks good!
Now to kick this virus to the curb and wait for our lab numbers to return to normal 🙏🏼♥️
Thank y’all for being such an amazing support system!

We are in recovery and doing well.
We should hopefully know something by tonight.
I appreciate the prayers and love.
We are on God’s time and trust his plan.

Tomorrow morning, Shane will have a biopsy of his liver done to look for rejection.
His doctors are being extremely cautious with his liver enzymes being high. It could be due to the virus he’s been fighting, but it could very well be his body rejecting his liver.
We are praying it is isn’t the latter.
Rejection is treatable and UW health is very upstanding with their pediatric transplant patients. We just hope to not to have to go through it.
God’s got this.
God’s got Shane.

Shane has been admitted to the hospital after his bout of a respiratory virus that just can’t seem to go away.
He unfortunately doesn’t seem to be getting better very quickly.
We are going to start looking at his liver to make sure it is okay and nothing funny is going on.

If y’all don’t mind saying a prayer for my sweet boy, I just want him to be healthy, happy, and safe. We are ready for the summer and better weather. ♥️
