✨ Employee Spotlight: Sheila Shirley, Weekend On Call Registered Nurse ✨

This week we are excited to shine the spotlight on Sheila Shirley, our Weekend RN Case Manager for Fort Worth!

With five years of nursing experience this June and over two years in hospice, Sheila brings compassion, heart, and dedication to every patient and family she serves. Her favorite part of the job is the people, and she feels deeply honored to care for those who are in one of the most vulnerable seasons of their journey on this earth.

When she’s not working, Sheila enjoys gardening, all things plants, hiking, and soaking up the joy of being a new grandparent. She also shared how much she appreciates being part of the Valor Hospice family over the past two years and how special it has been to watch the company continue to grow.

We’re so thankful for the kindness, comfort, and care Sheila brings to our team and the families we serve every step of the way.

✨ Employee Spotlight: Christina Smith, RN Case Manager ✨

We are proud to shine this week’s Employee Spotlight on Christina Smith, RN Case Manager at our Fort Worth office! Christina has been in healthcare since 2012, spending most of her career serving as an LVN before earning her RN in late 2022. With much of her experience rooted in long-term care, she has developed a true love for geriatrics and the meaningful connections that come with caring for others. She has also spent 3 years in hospice, where her compassion and heart for patients truly shine.

What Christina loves most about her job is the intimate setting hospice provides. She treasures the opportunity to hear patients’ stories, learn from their life experiences, and walk alongside them during such an important time. Outside of work, Christina enjoys visiting family in Louisiana, where peaceful walks through the trees help her recharge. She also loves documentaries, hiking, and watching bull riding and rodeos. And fun fact — while you may not catch her on one now, Christina used to ride dirt bikes when she was younger!

We are so grateful for Christina’s dedication, compassion, and the warmth she brings to our team every day. 💙

Last week’s Senior Expo at the Cleburne Conference Center was one for the books! We loved being part of a day filled with community, connection, and valuable resources for local seniors and families.

And of course, the fun was turned up a notch with door prizes from Ashlyn and Michael! 🎁✨

Thank you to everyone who came out, stopped by, and spent part of the day with us. Events like these remind us how special this community truly is!

We’re raising funds to help make a difference, and we’d love your support. You can help by donating to our team or joining in on our fundraiser raffle.
