Basic First Aid FB live event on Thursday at 4 pm. 😢1 yr old infant in Houston has died after consuming her mother’s cough syrup. This is incredibly sad but tragic event. Check out my 2nd FB live event this time covering Basic First Aid. We will be discussing topics such as:when to call 911, what to do if your child invests a poisonous substance, severe allergic reaction, seizures, diabetic emergencies, controlling bleeding and more.

Had a great week celebrating Heart Month with these three groups! They enthusiastically learned how to perform CPR on an adult, child, and infant. Practiced using the life-saving AED, and learned how to help someone who is choking. Skills everyone should know!

Once again an AED saved a life! I have one in my fitness studio and in my car ---- just in case.

Greg Page, one of the founding members of The Wiggles, suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on stage while performing at a bushfire relief concert in Sydney on Friday night.

Another successful CPR-AED-First Aid class at GE, Mining Dept. They work with a lot of heavy equipment which poses a high risk for injury but they are always prepared with regular safety training.

An excellent demonstration of chest compresssions by one of my students today. Compresssion depth is approximately 2 inches deep for an adult, 100-120 beats per minute (hard and fast). Compressions (also known as Hands Only CPR)are the most important part of CPR.

Another successful Babysitter Safety class --- these teenagers learned CPR, First Aid skills, and even how to market their babysitting business last Saturday. Kudos to their parents for creating this opportunity for their children to learn these life saving skills. Annette Aneth Gonzalez
