The American College of Veterinary Pharmacists registered student organization at UNT Health Fort Worth's College of Pharmacy hosted a special Pet CPR and First Aid presentation by Emergency Veterinarian, Dr. Skylar Lark Duck today. It was a great chance to explore veterinary medicine and learn how to save lives! 🥼 💊 🐾

PhD Candidate Anna Arredondo joined our Research Seminar Series with an outstanding research presentation titled, "Considerations in Nanotherapeutic Development". Arredondo obtained her Master's in Drug Discovery and Development from the UNT Health Fort Worth College of Pharmacy in 2023 and is now part of Dr. Jayoung Kim's research team in the Pharmaceutical Sciences department. She is doing amazing work and living our university values by showing her fire and staying curious as she advances in her PhD journey. Congratulations! 💡✨ 👏 👏 👏

🌟 Please join us in congratulating Dr. Denise Inman, Professor and Interim Chair for the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, on the publication “Tank-binding kinase 1 regulates inflammation and autophagy in glaucoma” published in Frontiers in Neuroscience. This was a student-led review of an important topic for the Inman lab which highlights the strength of collaborative mentorship, and the meaningful research our faculty and students achieve together. This work is yet another example of how our department fosters student growth through engagement, high-quality opportunity and support. 👁️ 🥼 👏

🌟 Congratulations to Dr. Rebecca Cunningham, Professor and Senior Associate Dean of the College of Pharmacy on the publication “Advancing Evidence-Based Regulation: Organization for the Study of S*x Differences and Society for Women’s Health Research Support FDA Action on Menopausal Hormone Therapy and Encourage Broader S*x-Informed Drug Label Updates" published in Biology of S*x Differences. Co-authored with leaders in endocrinology and women’s health, the article addresses FDA policy on menopausal hormone therapy and advances sex-informed approaches to drug regulation.

🌟 Dr. Cunningham also recently published the “Quantitative and morphological analyses reveal microglia-specific neuroinflammation in brain regions linked to cognitive function in ovariectomized and chronic intermittent hypoxia-exposed female rats” manuscript in Brain, Behavior, and Immunity Health. This represents our shared value of Show Your Fire and Better Together, as it highlights her strong collaboration with her students. 👏 🎉
