🔥Free Voice Therapy🔥
Is your throat tight when you vocalize? Do you have pain when talking or singing? Have you been told by a Doctor that your vocal cords look “fine?”

We are looking for you. 🤓 If you have a diagnosis of Muscle Tension Dysphonia (MTD) enroll in our study, and receive voice therapy for free! We have been approved by the IRB and have grant funding.

We’re studying if a hand-held vibration tool (placed on the neck) paired with voice therapy helps improve symptoms of MTD.

Volunteers attend weekly sessions of voice therapy in person at ATEMPO Voice Center in Fort Worth, Texas for 5-8 weeks, about 30 minutes in length. There are no known risks.

If you would like to volunteer for the study, please contact Dr. Christopher Watts at Texas Christian University c.watts@tcu.edu or 817-257-6878

What am I doing!?!? ⬇️
I’m using a flexible endoscope to view my vocal cords. You can see them on the screen in an open “V” shape. The scope is hooked up to a videostroboscopy machine that allows me to see my vocal cords in slow motion to see the fine tissue movements during voice production.
This exam is extremely sensitive and can identify very subtle changes in the motor function of the vocal cords as well as tissue mobility. Things like paresis (partial paralysis) or scar tissue is sometimes missed on a regular exam without the special “stroboscopy” light source, so if you’re worried about voice changes and your doctor is telling you you’re fine, consider pursuing a videostroboscopy exam.
If you are looking to train and how to perform these exams, check out my website for the on-demand video course “Ready…Set…STROBE!” This is 2 1/2 hours of training available to view anytime from anywhere. Find it and more courses at www.passaggioeducation.com or in my bio link 💜

When I made the “Ready…Set..STROBE” online course, I has no idea it would be so well received.
Since debut, we’ve helped licensed SLPs & SLP students begin their stroboscopy training journey AND sharpen skills they already have developed performing stroboscopy currently
I was hoping to share my experiential knowledge, and make a positive impact.
I was surprised to know the analysis and documentation would be the biggest help to people.
Even the self confidence section has received multiple accolades because it humanizes the trainer and the trainee.
Thanks for trusting my creations to strengthen your knowledge base. It means the world to me. 💜

Aledo, Texas has such a gift with Destiny Music Studio! I am truly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with owner and CEO Sarah Duke to have my book “Singing in a Jiff: A Guide to Creating Sustainability” offered as part of her singing students’ learning tools.

Pinch me! Sarah has 2 studios that offer singing lessons, as well as guitar, drum and piano lessons. There are some really cool summer camp opportunities at her Aledo and Mansfield locations.

This book is EXACTLY what I needed as a young singer and it’s my hope that what I created is helpful up singers of all ages. Singing is an athletic event and all genres are sustainable if you’ve got the knowledge of music and science of anatomy and voice production physiology.

Confused about my materials for singers? This might help.
“Singing in a Jiff: A Guide for Creating Sustainability” and “Voice in a Jiff: Singing in 101 for SLPs and SLTs” are different.
1) Singing in a Jiff is a book for all singers to make their instrument sustainable with voice science.
2)It is a hard copy book from Amazon (it ships and delivers to you)
3) It’s also available as a digital download on my website
1) Voice in a Jiff: Singing 101 for SLPs is a guide for clinicians to help understand their clients who sing
2) It is a digital download on my main website or on TPT you can use digitally or print out and have bound at a local print shop like Fed Ex or Staples.

You can also look for me on TpT as ‘Kristie Voice- a tempo Voice Center’. You can also look at atempovoicecenter.com
