Like, save, share! All the things 🫶🏻
1️⃣ Don’t skip meals - Kids start mimicking us at a young age. We are truly their idols! It’s important to show healthy eating behaviors and it starts at the beginning of the day with breakfast. Your child will always compare themselves to you and I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve heard “my mom/dad doesn’t eat that meal so why should I.”
2️⃣ Practice flexibility - eat what and when you need to with your kids. This will teach them that all foods can fit in a balanced diet and that FED is always BEST! If you are at a sports game during a meal time and hot dogs are the only option - have a hot dog! If your kids want to get ice cream for a snack, eat the ice cream! Most importantly, eat what your kids are eating during family meals. Avoid making a separate meal for yourself.
3️⃣ Avoid body checking and making body comments - again..our kiddos are always watching, listening and mimicking us. If they believe you are concerned about your body, they will internalize that concern upon themselves. If you talk about other people’s bodies in front of them, they will think that’s normal and something they should be aware of/concerned about.
None of us are perfect (including myself) but if you practice those 3 tips, it can make all the different in your child’s relationship with food/their body. 💕
✨If you yourself feel like you are struggling with any and all of those tips, I’m here for you! ✨You must take the very best care of yourself first so you can take the very best care of your littles.
