Gum recession occurs when the gum tissue pulls away from the tooth, exposing the root surface.

This can lead to increased sensitivity, higher risk of decay, and potential damage to the supporting structures of the tooth. In some cases, gum recession may happen gradually, but sudden changes should be evaluated promptly.

Periodontal care can help manage gum health and prevent further progression.

If you notice your gums pulling back or your teeth appearing longer, it’s important to seek professional care.

Gum disease doesn’t just affect the surface, it starts below the gumline.

Scaling and root planing, also known as deep cleaning, is a non-surgical treatment that removes plaque and bacteria from areas regular brushing cannot reach.

When is it needed?
• Bleeding gums
• Gum pockets forming
• Early signs of periodontal disease

What it does:
• Cleans below the gums
• Smoothens tooth roots to prevent bacteria buildup
• Helps gums reattach to teeth

Bleeding gums aren’t something to ignore. It’s often your body’s first warning sign that your gums need attention.

The good news? When caught early, gum infections can be treated effectively and even reversed with the right care.

Here’s what to watch for:
• Gums that bleed when brushing or flossing
• Redness or swelling
• Persistent bad breath
• Tender or sensitive gums

Treatment depends on the stage, but may include:
• Professional dental cleaning
• Deep cleaning (scaling & root planing)
• Antibacterial treatment
• Ongoing maintenance to keep gums healthy

Daily care makes a big difference:
Brush gently twice a day, floss consistently, and don’t skip your dental checkups.

Healthy gums are the foundation of a strong, confident smile.

Bad breath that doesn’t go away with brushing or mouthwash may be more than a simple hygiene issue.

Persistent odor can be caused by bacteria trapped beneath the gumline, often linked to gum infection or periodontal disease. These bacteria produce compounds that lead to unpleasant breath and may signal deeper oral health concerns.

Professional periodontal care can help remove the source of infection and restore gum health.

If bad breath continues despite good oral hygiene, it’s important to seek dental evaluation.

Severe tooth pain isn’t something to ignore.

It could be a sign of an infection deep inside your tooth, and delaying treatment can make it worse.

Common signs you need urgent care:
• Throbbing or sharp pain
• Swelling in the gums or face
• Sensitivity to hot or cold
• Pain when biting

A root canal can remove the infection, relieve pain, and save your natural tooth.

The sooner you act, the easier the treatment.

Swelling around a single tooth is often a sign of a localized gum infection that should not be ignored.

This type of inflammation may indicate the early stages of a periodontal abscess or bacterial buildup affecting the surrounding tissue. If left untreated, it can progress and lead to discomfort, infection, or damage to the supporting structures of the tooth.

Early evaluation and treatment can help prevent complications and protect your oral health.

If you notice swelling in one area of your gums, it’s important to seek professional care.

Are your teeth starting to look longer than before?
Gingival recession occurs when the gum tissue pulls back, exposing more of the tooth and its root. This can lead to sensitivity, higher risk of decay, and even tooth loss if left untreated.
The good news? Early care can help protect your gums and prevent further damage. Treatments like gum grafting and periodontal therapy can restore gum health and keep your smile strong.
Don’t wait until it worsens—taking action early makes all the difference.
