Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home

Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home The Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home is a funeral home dedicated to providing "outstanding service at an understanding price".

Martin Thompson started working full time in Funeral Service on January 1, 1976 for his father Guy Thompson at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. His father believed that you needed to work in every position in the funeral home. Martin worked the night shift for the first four years while attending Texas Wesleyan University. In 1998 Martin opened the Martin Thompson Funeral Home in Grapevine

and eventually had three funeral homes in Grapevine, Keller and Mansfield. As a student of funeral service his whole life Martin has watched trends change and needs develop through the years. Today funeral service is looking for outstanding service at an understanding price. So the Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home is here to offer an alternative to the traditional funeral home. We offer Traditional Funeral Services, a wide range of Cremation Services and Green Funeral Services. Green Funeral Services are services for those who are looking for the most environmental care that can be offered. We welcome your call to discuss any funeral needs.

Funeral service: A formal ceremony that is based on the religious and cultural beliefs of the deceased. This type of service usually takes place within a few days of the death, at the home of the deceased, in a funeral home, or a church.
Memorial Service: A ceremony for celebrating or remembering the life of a person who has died. It often takes place after the body has been buried or cremated.
Committal Service: A brief ritual, often involving prayer. A committal service takes place at the graveside following a funeral, or in the case of cremation, in the cremation chapel.
Visitation: An event hosted in order to allow friends and family of the deceased to visit and express sympathy. Family visitations can provide family and friends with the opportunity to share their grief with one another in a more personal setting.
What are YOUR service preferences, whether you are attending or planning for your own?

"You will lose someone you can't live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn't seal back up. And you come through. It's like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly, that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp." - Anne Lamott
