You came to me at 15 years old with no real words. We started working together with an AAC device which was exactly what you needed to make the connection to using verbal expression. We have been working together for 3 years and this week you played your ukulele and sang "This Little Light of Mine" in front of an audience. You rock!!

Alright Ft. Worth - here we snow again! Jump Start is open to virtual only appointments for Thursday February 3rd and Friday February 4th. Two of our favorites are in D.C. this weekend to attend the annual speech and hearing convention along with thousands of other fellow speech therapists and audiologists. 🗣🦻🏼

Both Ms. Kaitlin and Mrs. Lauren attended this year as presenters! Mrs. Lauren led a presentation highlighting how leaders can best cast a vision for a unified team. Ms. Kaitlin led a presentation discussing how to effectively implement AAC device treatment with patients via teletherapy.

So proud of you guys for your hard work with these presentations, and for representing the Jump Start team at ASHA. We admire each of you for your commitment to aiding other professionals in helping children reach their full potential! 💙💙💙

This week we are excited to spotlight our awesome Mrs. Paige!! Paige, our Lead SLP, has been with us for over 5 years. She provides exceptional leadership to the team and is an amazing therapist for her patients and their families.
Today we are celebrating Mrs. Paige for earning a certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). Congrats Paige Vidrine MS, CCC-SLP, CLC! So proud of ALL your hard work!

Mrs. Paige is married to Ethan and has a sweet puppy dog named Piper. She is also a TCU alumni- go frogs! 🐸💜

October 22nd is International Stuttering Awareness Day! 🗣

In honor of this day our friend Evan wanted to share some thoughts about what it’s like to be a person who stutters in order to build awareness for his community.

Evan is in the 8th grade and plays tennis and the trumpet. He wants people to know that even though his words may take longer to come out, his words are just as important.
Evan often says that stuttering is not a communication disorder, rather a communication difference. “It’s okay to stutter… you aren’t alone!”

We are so proud to have Evan as a part of our Jump Start family!
