Our Happy Project

Our Happy Project This page is dedicated to random & purposeful acts of kindness in memory of our children's grandmother, who they referred to as, "Happy."

My children were blessed with a phenomenal grandmother that they called, “Happy.” Unfortunately, she passed away in 2014 from cancer. In October 2015 our family decided to make a conscious effort to do purposeful and random acts of kindness in her honor, thus began our Happy Project. Our hope is that it will provide our children with an outlet for the grief of losing their grandmother, that it will cause a ripple effect of positive deeds for others, and that it will enable them to honor the joy and love that she brought to our lives. To come up with ideas we: sit down and think of ideas, look on Pinterest, and search the Internet. Sometimes we just see something that catches our eye while we are out and about and the acts are completely random. It is so uplifting to see all the wonderful things other people have done too. We would love to see your photos and hear of the things you have done and any suggestions you have that we could do as well! Acts of kindness are from the heart and many only cost time. This is a great activity for a family, group, individuals and people of all ages-young or old- you can change the world. Remember, if you can be anything, be kind. Expect nothing in return and you will find that you get more back than you could ever imagine. Acts of Kindness Ideas:
• Bake cookies for the police or fire department
• Start a Little Free Library (www.littlefreelibrary.com)
• Fix flowers at the cemetery
• Make Chemo Care Packages
• Slip dollar bills into books that library
• Tape dollar bills to the front of RedBox machines
• Tape quarters to toy machines
