March Matness Day 31: Push Ups 💪

A strong finish to another fun March filled with Mat exercises! The BASI Pilates push up exercise is great for shoulder scapula stabilization and arm strength. It’s less about how far you can lower your body down, and more about keeping your body in the correct position and alignment. A major theme you’ll see in all Pilates exercises!

Thanks for tagging along with us for March Matness 2026 💚

March Matness Day 30: Control Balance ⚖️

Don’t let how seamless Heather does this exercise fool you, it’s a tough one! Love how Heather stays lifted through her core and maximizes the range of motion as her leg lifts to the ceiling.

March Matness Day 29: Rocking 🤘

An exercise that challenges and pushes your back extension and flexibility! Watch that the head moves with the body and that your shoulders stay in neutral position the entire time.

Still riding the energy from today’s Art of Cueing workshop ✨

There’s something really special about being in a room with people who show up not just to move—but to learn, refine, and be intentional with every detail. Grateful for each of you who brought that level of focus and curiosity. It makes the work so much more meaningful.

And a big thank you to Brandon for leading such a thoughtful and inspiring workshop. So much to take away, reflect on, and continue building.

Back to the practice…always evolving 💫

March Matness Day 28: Seal and Crab 🦀

What a fun exercise! Both using C-curves and rolling like a ball in different ways. Don’t miss the part in Crab where Heather rolls forward and firmly places her head on the ground while maximizing her C-curve through the upper body.

March Matness Day 27: Boomerang 🪃

An advanced, multi-step Pilates exercise that uses elements of roll-up, roll over, and teaser! This one is all about control and accuracy. It’s a doozie!

March Matness Day 26: Side Bend 🫶

This is BASI Pilates spin on side planks as you move through the position! Feel your body lift away from the mat as your obliques fire to support and stabilize.

March Matness Day 25: Side Kick 💜

This exercise is all about stabilizing and lifting through the upper body while the leg works here. The leg kicks forward and back at hip height, a key cue in the exercise, and travels along the same line in space. It’s important to watch for that leg dipping down below hip height while you perform the movement.

March Matness Day 24: Leg Pull Back & Front

Two very similar but different exercises! In both you are thinking about lifting the chest up and away from the shoulders and isolating the leg while it moves. The difference is how the leg is moving and how much mobility you have to move the leg in that specific direction. Great for stabilization through the back and upper body 💪

March Matness Day 23: Swimming 🩵

This exercise is a true test of coordination and control as opposite arm and leg reach long in a steady rhythm! Stay lifted through your center and active through your limbs to keep the movement light and seamless.
