Walk #3 with my weighted vest, and I’m officially a fan. 🙌
If you’ve been curious about adding a weighted vest or weighted clothing to your routine, I’ve really been enjoying mine. I’m using it to increase my cardio challenge and support bone density, and I definitely notice I’m working harder and sweating more.
A weighted vest increases the load your muscles and bones have to manage. Even if you’re walking the same route, your body is doing more behind the scenes. Add in walking a little longer and a little faster, and you’ve layered intensity on top of resistance. That’s a triple scoop of progress. 💪
A few quick notes:
✔️ Cardio boost – Your heart rate climbs because you’re moving more mass. Higher energy output without sprinting or pounding the pavement. It’s like quietly turning up the incline without touching a button.
✔️ Bone density support – Weight-bearing exercise is key for bone health. Adding load increases mechanical stress on bones, which can stimulate bone remodeling over time. For women especially, that’s a powerful long-term strategy.
✔️ Sweating & detox – Sweat shows you’re working harder and helps regulate body temperature. (Your liver and kidneys are still the true detox heroes.)
Gentle guardrails:
• Stand tall, ribs stacked over hips.
• Increase weight gradually.
• Consider one lighter recovery walk each week without the vest.
