Everything you need to know about our BioTouch Precision Microneedling + SERA advanced scalp therapy
Here are some frequently asked questions!
Is the procedure a one-time solution?
The BioTouch Precision Microneedling Sera Hair Booster treatment is not a one-time solution for hair growth. It is a cosmetic procedure that stimulates hair growth by creating micro-injuries in the scalp and delivering a nourishing serum to the hair follicles. While some people may see results after just one treatment, most people require multiple sessions to achieve optimal results.
The number of sessions required will depend on the individual’s hair growth needs, the severity of their hair loss, and other factors such as age and overall health. Typically, a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for best results. After the initial series of treatments, maintenance sessions may be needed every 6-12 months to maintain the results.
It is important to note that microneedling Sera Hair Booster treatment is not a guaranteed solution for hair growth. It may not be effective for everyone, and individual results may vary. Additionally, other factors such as genetics, hormonal imbalances, and underlying medical conditions can also contribute to hair loss and may need to be addressed to achieve optimal hair growth.
Overall, microneedling Sera Hair Booster treatment is a safe and effective procedure for stimulating hair growth and improving the overall health of the scalp. However, it is not a one-time solution and requires multiple sessions and maintenance to achieve and maintain optimal results.

What are the contraindications?
Micro-needling Sera for scalp is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with small needles to puncture the skin on the scalp to stimulate hair growth. While it is generally considered safe, there are some contraindications to the treatment that should be taken into consideration. These include:
ʚïɞ Active infections: Micro-needling for scalp should not be done if there is an active infection on the scalp, such as folliculitis or impetigo.
ʚïɞ Blood thinners: If you are taking blood-thinning medications or have a bleeding disorder, micro-needling for scalp may not be suitable for you as it can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising.
ʚïɞ Skin disorders: If you have skin disorders on the scalp such as psoriasis, eczema, or seborrheic dermatitis, micro-needling for scalp should be avoided as it can aggravate these conditions.
ʚïɞ Active acne: If you have active acne on the scalp, it is not recommended to undergo micro-needling for scalp until the acne has cleared up.
ʚïɞ Keloid scarring: If you have a history of keloid scarring, micro-needling for scalp may not be suitable for you as it can potentially exacerbate the scarring.
ʚïɞ Pregnancy: It is not recommended to undergo micro-needling for scalp during pregnancy, as there is a lack of research on the safety of the procedure during pregnancy.
ʚïɞ Skin cancer: If you have a history of skin cancer or have any suspicious moles or lesions on the scalp, it is important to have them evaluated by a dermatologist before considering micro-needling Sera Hair Booster treatment.
What should I do before treatment?
ʚïɞ Arrive with a clean scalp! ʚïɞ
Wash your hair the night before or the morning of your appointment. Avoid using any hair styling products like gels, sprays, dry shampoo, or oils on the day of treatment.
ʚïɞ Avoid blood thinners (unless medically necessary) ʚïɞ
Refrain from taking aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil supplements for 48 hours prior, as they can increase the risk of pinpoint bleeding. If you are on prescription blood thinners, please let us know!
ʚïɞ Skip alcohol & caffeine ʚïɞ
Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine 24 hours before your treatment to minimize sensitivity and reduce potential inflammation.
ʚïɞ No sunburns or irritated scalp ʚïɞ
If you’ve had recent sun exposure or irritation, let us know so we can reschedule if needed. Treatment should only be done on intact, healthy skin.
ʚïɞ Avoid coloring or chemical treatments beforehand ʚïɞ
Wait at least 5–7 days after hair coloring, bleaching, or chemical treatments before your microneedling session.
ʚïɞ Hydrate well ʚïɞ
Drink plenty of water the day before and day of your appointment—hydrated skin and scalp respond better to treatment.
ʚïɞ Let us know if you’re pregnant or nursing ʚïɞ
This treatment may not be recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
