Exciting things are happening!!

We’re joining a national conversation around homelessness. On October 9-10, President/CEO Charles Wolford will sit on a bench—rain or shine—for 24 hours to listen, talk, and share with our community.

It’s part of Conversations on a Bench, a Citygate Network event taking place in dozens of cities across North America. The goal? To reflect the love of God and create space for honest conversations about homelessness, addiction, and mental health. We’re hopeful this event helps shift hearts and spread the hope of Christ in our city.

Sign up to participate in UGM-TC’s first Project 5:41 Simulation from 5:30pm on August 22nd to 10am on August 23rd!

Step beyond your comfort zone and walk alongside those facing daily hardship. This Poverty Simulation Experience is a powerful, immersive opportunity designed to deepen understanding, build empathy, and inspire action. Participants will be placed in realistic scenarios that mirror the complex, often overwhelming challenges of living in poverty—housing insecurity, food scarcity, and limited transportation. Rooted in the spirit of Matthew 5:41, this experience calls us not just to walk a mile in another’s shoes—but to walk the second mile with them, in solidarity and love.

A guided debrief to process insights and encourage compassionate responses, as well as a service opportunity are included. Invite your family, church, or neighbors to join you in this simulation. Need a place to cool off in this Texas heat? UGM-TC is now the official Cooling Station for the Lancaster area! Our Chapel is open daily from 11AM–6PM to offer relief to our unsheltered neighbors!

UGM-TC is now the official Cooling Station for the Lancaster area! We are offering the Chapel space to help to give some relief to our unsheltered neighbors during this incredibly hot season! They will be able to cool down and come inside the Chapel anytime 11:00am to 6:00pm Monday-Sunday.
