Fort Worth AYA Oncology Coalition

Fort Worth AYA Oncology Coalition The FWAYA (Adolescent/Young Adult) Oncology Coalition works together to ensure that every AYA with cancer has access to the care & resources they need. Why?

Cancer is the number one disease-related cause of death in adolescents and young adults ages 15 to 39. While there has been an improvement in survival outcomes in pediatric and older adult cancer patients over the past 30 years, AYAs have seen minimal improvements. This age group is burdened with disparities within our health care system, which can include access to care, limited resources and a lack of age-appropriate support. We’re here to change that. The Fort Worth Adolescents and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology Coalition is a community network of AYAs, health professionals and invested individuals who are working together to support young people before, during and after a cancer diagnosis. We're committed to ensuring that all AYAs diagnosed with cancer in our community receive comprehensive and age appropriate care of the highest standard via access to health services, education, support and resources. We will support health care professionals and create awareness in the community surrounding the unique needs of AYAs. Please visit fwaya.org to support the Fort Worth AYA community.

Have you seen our amazing infusion unit yet? We are so proud of it! In May 2016, our coalition opened America’s first community-supported AYA oncology inpatient unit and infusion center for patients ages 15-39.
Located inside Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth, the unit provides an age-relevant treatment “Home”for young adults, ages 15-39, diagnosed with cancer in our community. 🎗To continue our work please donate directly on our website so we are able to care for AYAs throughout our community. https://fwaya.org/donate-to-fwaya/
