PolyMem dressings were initiated and remained comfortably in place, supporting a stable healing environment with minimal disruption. Healing progressed without complications, and complete wound closure was achieved within days.

When treatment prioritizes comfort, protection, and consistency, skin tears can move efficiently from injury to closure.

Nursing is not a 9 to 5 job. It is long hours, constant pressure, and showing up fully for patients even on the hardest days.

On Certified Nurses Day, we are recognizing the clinicians who commit to higher standards of care in a field that already asks so much of them. A special shoutout to our own, Pat and Linda. Your expertise, resilience, and compassion make a real difference for the patients and teams around you.

Today is more than a celebration. It is a thank you for the work you do when no one is watching.

PolyMem dressings are designed to address the real challenges of skin tear management by minimizing trauma to fragile skin, reducing pain during wear and dressing changes through inflammation control, and supporting longer wear times to help maintain a stable healing environment.

When treatment works with the body, healing has the chance to move forward.

Deep tissue pressure injuries can take one of two paths: they either open or resolve. When managed with PolyMem dressings, DTPIs were 4.5 times more likely to resolve without opening compared to the facility’s standard of care, and those that did open showed faster resolution.

PolyMem dressings are a trusted choice for DTPI care. Interested in learning how Polymem can support your wound care approach?

When does inflammation stop helping and start holding healing back?

Inflammation plays a critical role early in wound healing, but when it persists, it can delay progress. PolyMem works with the body through each phase of wound healing to help control inflammation, protect the wound bed, and support steady progression toward closure.

Healing progresses best when inflammation is controlled, supporting the body’s naturally overlapping healing processes instead of disrupting them.

Pain has a way of shrinking a patient’s world. It steals sleep, limits movement, and turns simple moments into daily challenges.

Reducing pain in wound care gives patients more than relief. It lowers stress, improves healing, boosts treatment adherence, supports mobility and mental well-being, and ultimately leads to better recovery outcomes for patients.

Patients using PolyMem dressings often report a significant reduction, if not elimination, of both persistent and procedural pain. By controlling inflammation and maintaining moisture balance, PolyMem helps reduce wound sensitivity, making ongoing care easier for both patients and clinicians.

“Everything stuck. The pain was extreme.”

That’s how this clinician described a malleolar pressure wound before switching to PolyMem. After the change, progress was seen week to week through closure, and the patient reported no ongoing pain.
Better healing shouldn’t come at the cost of patient comfort.

What happens when a pressure ulcer stalls despite months of treatment?

In this case, a Stage IV heel pressure injury with necrosis, odor, and severe pain had stalled after months of prior care. After PolyMem Silver® was initiated, odor was controlled within days, the pain scale was reduced from 9 to 0 without medication, dressing changes decreased, and the wound closed in just over 3 months.
