When you hear “Virtual Reality in rehab”, what comes to mind first?

We hear a lot of different answers, and most of them are based on what virtual Reality used to be, not what it is now.

This month brought meaningful conversations around brain injury rehabilitation and the opportunity to meet incredible clinicians along the way.

At the NABIS Conference, we had thoughtful discussions with therapists about how they’re approaching care for patients with brain injuries, from cognition and engagement to long-term recovery.

We also had the chance to onboard new teams and connect with some wonderful clinicians across multiple locations from Ignite Medical Resorts, Advanced Neuro, Lifepoint, and Aurora St. Luke’s.

We our grateful to be part of a community that continues to learn, adapt, and move neuro rehab forward.

Some sessions stay with you, not because something went wrong, but because something didn’t fully connect.

The plan made sense, the exercises were right, but the session didn’t quite resonate the way you expected. Those moments are part of the practice, they help you adjust, reflect, and find what works.

The right support doesn’t replace your expertise. It helps you apply it more effectively.

A good session isn’t just about what you do, it’s how the whole session comes together.

Starting strong, progressing at the right pace, keeping patients engaged, and ending with clear carryover all matter.

Which part of a therapy session requires the most attention to get right?

We’re creating something new, Behind the Care. It’s a simple, relaxed conversation about how you practice, what you’ve learned along the way, and what makes your care your own.

If you’re a PT, OT, SLP, educator, rehab leader, or anyone this resonates with, we’d love to have you be part of it. You spend your career helping others move forward, but don’t always get the chance to talk about yourself.

Comment or send us a message, we’d love to hear your story.

Physical therapy can look simple from the outside. A few exercises, a few repetitions, and you’re done.
But what most people don’t see is everything happening behind each movement;
the constant decisions, the adjustments, and the careful balance between pushing forward and protecting progress.

We broke it all down in our latest blog:

Therapists spend their careers helping others move forward, but rarely do they pause to talk about themselves, the person behind the care.

We’re launching something new.
Behind the Care, a clinician spotlight series focused on You! About your journey, your practice, and what makes your approach different.

Because this field moves forward through you.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month, a time to recognize the challenges many patients face in their recovery journey.

Recovery after brain injury is rarely a straight path. It takes patience, repetition, and dedicated rehabilitation professionals. We’re grateful for the therapists and care teams who support patients throughout their recovery, and for the patients whose courage and persistence make every milestone meaningful.

We recently explored how immersive therapy can support engagement and functional recovery in brain injury rehabilitation.

Brain injury rehabilitation often involves more than physical recovery.
Clinicians are constantly navigating cognitive challenges, emotional responses, motivation, and functional progress.
