Join us in saying thank you and farewell to Dr. Melanie Lagomichos! She will be leaving HSC Health OB/GYN, effective April 2, 2022. Dr. Lagomichos is leaving private practice to transition into hospital medicine.

In addition, we regret to inform our HSC Health OB/GYN patients that the practice will be closing on April 30, 2022. We will continue to provide you with medical care until that date, and information about Dr. Bartels new practice will be sent directly to her patients.

In recognition of World Prematurity Day yesterday, the TCOM - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine Department of Pediatrics and Women's Health wore purple to raise awareness of the global crisis of prematurity.

According to March of Dimes, 1 in 10 babies in the U.S. are born prematurely (before 37 weeks), which puts them at a greater risk for long-term health problems, including cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, chronic lung disease, blindness and hearing loss.
