FMC Staff Spotlight ✨

Courtney is the Office Manager at Freedom Medical Center and plays a vital role in ensuring every client feels welcomed and cared for from the moment they walk in. With a strong background in both healthcare and business, she brings experience from the American Diabetes Association, Jane Pauley Community Health Center, and United Healthcare Optum—blending patient coordination and administrative expertise to create a smooth, supportive experience for every visitor.

She holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Anderson University and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Passionate about growth and excellence, Courtney is dedicated to helping Freedom Medical Center deliver exceptional care and build long-term relationships within the community.

Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Collin, and their two children, Isaac and Isabelle. Together, they love camping, exploring new places, and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts. Sundays are sacred—reserved for faith, football, and family time.

FMC Staff Spotlight ✨

Kayla Huffman, FNP-C is a highly accomplished Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Freedom Medical Center. She was recently honored with Ball State University’s Outstanding Emerging Nurse Alumni Award, a prestigious recognition given to alumni who have graduated within the past 20 years and have demonstrated exceptional professional success. This achievement is a testament to Kayla’s dedication, passion, and the remarkable impact she has made early in her career. The entire Freedom Medical Center team is incredibly proud of her and all she has accomplished.

With over 15 years of experience in healthcare, Kayla has served in a wide range of roles, beginning with four years as an EMT and five years as an Emergency Department nurse. She has spent the past five years practicing as a Nurse Practitioner and has also dedicated four years to health coaching, helping individuals take control of their well-being through sustainable lifestyle changes.

Driven by a passion for combating the nationwide obesity epidemic, Kayla launched a specialized medical weight loss and IV therapy clinic, which has since grown into a full medspa and wellness center. Her commitment to whole-person healing reflects her belief that wellness extends beyond physical treatment.

As a Christian woman with a powerful testimony, Kayla integrates faith and medicine into her practice. She believes true healing encompasses the body, mind, and spirit AND offers every patient an opportunity for prayer at the end of their visit, trusting in the transformative power of faith.

Outside the clinic, Kayla enjoys traveling, horseback riding, and spending quality time with her husband, Chris, and their four children, Alissa, Tyler, Ashley, and Lacy.
