The First Care Foundation is here to support the health and vitality of our area communities. We also partner with the Fosston Hospital, as well as the Clinics in Fosston, Bagley & Oklee to ensure local access to high quality healthcare. We raise funds and friends for EHF through our periodic "Tango & Cash" events, annual participation in Giving Hearts Day, GiveMN.org., memorials, bequests, gifts
and through our two endowments managed through the Northwest Minnesota Foundation. Our current priority is to assist in recruitment efforts to help with the critical need for doctors to serve our area communities, and supporting efforts to secure our healthcare future. Over the last 15 years, we have raised over $1 million to help with building projects and the purchase of new life saving equipment at EHF. In addition, we have supported community projects like the FIT Hiking Trail, Accesibility Lift for the Fosston Swimming Pool, and rehabbing the Fosston Track. In the recent past, the foundation has raised $20,000 for a new ambulance, $100,000 to equip the new hospital surgical suite, and $50,000 to expand hospital chemotherapy services. In addition to assisting with the recruitment of new providers, the helipad, infant protection system, audiology equipment, heart care equipment and more. First Care Medical Services Foundation was established in 1993 and is governed by a 12-member volunteer board.
