East Polk County DAC Since 1973 the East Polk County DAC has been helping adults with developmental disabilities turn challenges into opportunities; over 40 years!

The East Polk County DAC is a day training and habilitation agency serving adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and mental illness. Our focus is each individuals abilities, not disabilities. EPCDAC strives to assist each of its clients in reaching his or her maximum potential. We believe that all people can and should have active, healthy relationships with their communities and people who are important in their lives. The EPCDAC staff is responsible for and dedicated to providing a safe environment, both physically and emotionally and in a manner that fosters an environment that provides for basic dignity for all people. The EPCDAC is committed to working together with families, employers and other team members to best support the people we serve. Our success is measured by the accomplishments of the people we serve.

About Us: East Polk County DAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality care and support to adults with cognitive and/or physical disabilities in our community. Our mission is to empower individuals to reach their full potential and live fulfilling lives.

Position Summary: As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. You will provide assistance with various activities, including work, community outings, and leisure activities.

Responsibilities:

Assist individuals with personal care tasks
Accompany individuals on community outings and activities.
Accompany individuals to work sites.
Promote independence and self-sufficiency.
Document and report on individual progress and behavior.
Follow agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.
Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Self-motivated and creative
Commitment to providing compassionate and respectful care.
Ability to pass a background check.
