✨ Our second meeting of the Shepherd Family Alliance has been set!
This group has been developed by our Social Services Department to support family members as they navigate the journey of having a loved one in our care. The goal is to provide helpful coping strategies, along with tools and resources to make this time as smooth and manageable as possible. Just as importantly, it offers a chance to connect with others who truly understand what you’re experiencing—building a sense of community and support along the way.
While conversations may naturally include your loved ones, this group will not focus on the day-to-day operations of Good Shepherd Home. Instead, the focus is on you—providing encouragement, guidance, and support throughout your journey. Topics may include finances, loneliness, guilt, Alzheimer’s/dementia, and decision-making.
Any questions--please contact Cameron Corbin, LSW, Care Coordinator at 419-937-1801.

Today, we remember the brave men and women who served our country during our Memorial Day Tribute at Good Shepherd Home. ❤️🤍💙

It was a meaningful morning as we recognized our veterans with certificates of appreciation, witnessed a moving 21-gun salute, and held a ceremonial flag change in tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

To our veterans, and to the families who have loved and lost heroes—thank you. We remember with gratitude, honor, and prayer this Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Today, Good Shepherd Home was honored to participate in the 2nd Annual Shifting Perspectives Panel hosted by the Senior Resource Network of Northwest Ohio.

As proud members of the Seneca County Resource Network, we value opportunities like this that encourage meaningful conversations around aging, caregiving, independence, and the real-life experiences of older adults in our communities.

The panel brought together thoughtful voices from across Northwest Ohio, each sharing unique perspectives on purpose, resilience, community engagement, and the challenges—and joys—of aging. We were especially proud to see Seneca County represented by Leonard Skonecki—not only a gifted storyteller and community historian, but also a valued Good Shepherd Home volunteer. Leonard generously shares his time and talents with our residents, and his perspective was a meaningful addition to this important conversation. His lifelong commitment to community involvement is truly inspiring.

At Good Shepherd Home, we believe some of the best lessons come from simply listening. Thank you to the Senior Resource Network for creating space for these important conversations and for bringing organizations together to better support older adults throughout our region. 💙
