Just a reminder to families that you are invited to take this online survey to voice your preferences for our new Shepherd Family Alliance support group!
ā Attention Family Members ā
Weāre excited to introduce a new opportunity for families at Good Shepherd Homeāthe Shepherd Family Alliance.
This group is being developed by our Social Services Department to support family members as they navigate the journey of having a loved one in our care. The goal is to provide helpful coping strategies, along with tools and resources to make this time as smooth and manageable as possible. Just as importantly, it offers a chance to connect with others who truly understand what youāre experiencingābuilding a sense of community and support along the way.
While conversations may naturally include your loved ones, this group will not focus on the day-to-day operations of Good Shepherd Home. Instead, the focus is on youāproviding encouragement, guidance, and support throughout your journey. Topics may include finances, loneliness, guilt, Alzheimerās/dementia, and decision-making.
In the coming days, youāll receive an interest survey by mail, and there will also be an option to complete it online. Your feedback will help us shape this groupādetermining things like meeting days, times, frequency, and lengthāso it best meets your needs.
More details to come soon, but for now, weāre excited to bring this meaningful new program to our community!

Today we celebrate the greatest victory in history.
The tomb is empty, death is defeated, and hope is alive.
He is risen! Alleluia! āļø

Today we reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the profound love revealed on the cross. Good Friday calls us to pause, remember, and give thanks for the gift of redemption. Even in this solemn moment, we hold onto the promise that hope is never lost.
"But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed." ā Isaiah 53:5

We had a little excitement around the pond yesterdayā¦
Some of our staff spotted what appeared to be a CROCODILE floating in the water! š±
Thankfully, it turns out this surprise visitor was all in good fun ā just a playful April Fools joke done in loving memory of one of our beloved former residents, Ray Smith, who always had a great sense of humor and loved a good laugh.
We think Ray would have gotten a real kick out of seeing everyoneās reactions! ā¤ļø
Thank you to our team for being such great sports ā and for keeping the smiles (and a little bit of panic!) alive around here.
Did we fool you? š
