Ohio Assisted Living Association & Good Shepherd Home Honor Brandy Gillig with "Honoring Excellence" Award

The Ohio Assisted Living Association (OALA), in partnership with Good Shepherd Home, is proud to announce Brandy Gillig as a recipient of the prestigious Honoring Excellence Award.

Each year, OALA recognizes exceptional individuals who exemplify vision, innovation, leadership, and compassion in their roles across Ohio’s assisted living communities. Representing over 600 licensed communities, OALA’s Honoring Excellence program celebrates those who go above and beyond in service to residents and their families.

Brandy Gillig, LPN was selected as Outstanding Charge Nurse, a testament to her unwavering dedication and creative leadership. She embodies the core values that OALA seeks in its Honoring Excellence nominees.

Brandy was nominated by Chris Widman, who shared:

“After nearly two decades of caring for seniors at Good Shepherd Home, she has built lasting relationships with residents and their families. She uses the knowledge of these relationships to deliver care that is both thoughtful and highly personalized.”

Today, Good Shepherd Home had the privilege of celebrating our resident veterans during a special Veterans Pinning Ceremony hosted by our wonderful partners at Ohio Living Hospice.

It was a heartfelt event filled with gratitude, reflection, and appreciation for the men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication. 💙❤️

Thank you to Ohio Living Hospice for recognizing our heroes and helping us honor their service in such a meaningful way.

🚨 NOW HIRING! 🚨
RN/LPN DAY OR NIGHT SHIFT
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing wound care, and assisting with procedures
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare topics, including disease management and prevention
- Assist with the coordination of patient appointments and referrals
- Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) systems, such as Cerner
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
```Qualifications```
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience in infant care, health coaching, and acute pain management is preferred
- Proficient in using medical equipment and technology, such as catheterization equipment, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), and sonography devices
- Familiarity with home care and assisted living settings is a plus
- Strong knowledge of vital signs monitoring and interpretation
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
