Dr. Gemie Pham is an independent Doctor of Optometry practicing inside Sam's Club, Fountain Valley, next to the Optical Center. Dr. Pham is a native of Orange County and attended Pacifica High School in Garden Grove. She graduated from UCLA in 2004 with a Bachelor or Science in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern California Colle

ge of Optometry (SCCO) in Fullerton, Calilfornia. Since graduating in 2008 she served as a Naval Officer and Optometrist for the United States Navy in San Diego, California. Dr. Pham is excited to be back in Orange County with her husband and one year old son to be near family and friends. She is looking forward to delivering outstanding eye care to the residents of Orange County.

Glaucoma is a disease that damages your eye's optic nerve. It usually happens when fluid builds up and increases pressure inside the eye.

Since January is Glaucoma Awareness month…here’s some interesting information... There’s no prevention of glaucoma itself but there are definitely ways to prevent blindness cause by glaucoma.

Most types of glaucoma cannot be prevented. However, blindness from glaucoma can be prevented with proper treatment.
