The holidays will be upon us sooner than we think. Last year our amazing social worker and field administrator, Debbie, gathered a team to home cook 👩‍🍳 turkey 🦃 thanksgiving meals for some of our patients that weren’t able to cook for themselves or were in need. We can’t wait to do it again this year

We are so blessed to be able to serve our patients and their families daily and even more with the upcoming holiday season.

~ 𝓂ℯℯ𝓉 𝕂𝕒𝕥𝕙𝕝𝕖𝕖𝕟 ~

At Acacia Hospice, we strive to help each of our patients live to the fullest. Each member of our care team seeks to enhance the quality
of life of our patients on each visit.

Sure , all hospice companies say that... but here at Acacia we lead with our hearts and live these words of quality of life in our daily actions.

When we first met Kathleen , she was laying in bed and with sadness staring at the walls. This was NOT going to fly with Acacia by her side. We helped her contact her family in Ireland and ultimately asked what did she did previously that made her spark joy.

We learned that this nun used to be the caretaker for priests and others and now we could be there for her. She said she enjoyed crosswords and 📖 reading but was having difficulty due to decreasing vision.

Our nurse jumped into action and got her a few books delivered, one of which was this large text biblical word search. This completely transformed Kathleen’s quality of life and produced a BIG smile daily.

She would not let us share the picture of her laying in bed , BUT quickly authorized us to shared this picture of her smiling and enjoying her word search. Not only is Kathleen now sitting up for the first time in a while, but truly joyful and sitting out in the living room even on the couch. She is a completely transformed person from a little action of love and understanding what quality of life means to her. Our nurses even have visited her as a guest on their days off just to keep her company and enjoy their visits making a difference since her family is so far away.

This smile is the product of what Acacia means when we say we enhance quality of life for our patients. We are so grateful to have such an amazing staff that goes above and beyond daily.

At Acacia, we serve the whole patient. They are at the heart 💚 of everything what we do. One of the ways we have been helping seniors who can’t leave the home, is by distributing Acacia 🌳 Activity Baskets. So grateful to work for a company doing amazing things for our community.

There is no better testimonial of the work we do than a smile and a story in person from a very happy family member. 💚 We had the pleasure of seeing this sweet wife of a patient today as she donated hand made masks 😷 . She shared with us how much she valued our services. 🌳 As a Nurse herself it was an honor that this military RN gave us high compliments💚. Her husband had acacia home health multiple times throughout the years and he continued on with Acacia hospice when it was needed. It’s been over a year now since he passed and it’s such a blessing to see her to continue to interact with our staff, and specifically remember, by name, each individual that cared for her husband. She started tearing up today and said how thankful she was for the excellent care she revceived from Acacia Home Health & Acacia Hospice (Yes, agreed we could share this picture :)
