Sugar can make your blood vessels feel inflamed and slow your circulation.

The secret to happy veins? Enjoy your cookies and treats, but don’t forget to drink water and take little breaks to move around. Your veins (and your body!) will thank you! 💖

Did you know?
As we grow older, our arteries quietly change — becoming a little stiffer, a little less flexible.

You might not notice at first, but these subtle shifts can slow blood flow, raise blood pressure, and put extra strain on your heart.

If you’re experiencing leg pain, cold feet, or swelling, early vascular screening can help protect your long-term health.

Regular check-ups are especially important for women 40+, because prevention starts before symptoms appear.

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein—most commonly in the legs.
It may start with mild discomfort, but it’s serious because the clot can travel to the lungs and cause a pulmonary embolism, which is life-threatening.

Watch out for symptoms like swelling, warmth, redness, and unexplained leg pain—especially if it’s only on one side. Early detection can prevent serious complications.

🩺 When to See a Specialist
If you experience persistent or unexplained leg swelling, pain, warmth, or discoloration, get evaluated by a vascular specialist. Early diagnosis is key to preventing long-term issues.

Leg swelling, or edema, happens when fluid builds up in the tissues of your legs and ankles. While it can be caused by everyday factors like long hours of standing or sitting, it can also signal an underlying vascular problem—especially if the swelling is persistent or affects only one leg.

Vein valve weakness, poor circulation, varicose veins, and even blood clots can all make fluid pool in the lower legs. If you’re noticing heaviness, tightness, skin discoloration, or swelling that doesn’t go away, it may be time to get your veins evaluated.

Early diagnosis is key to preventing long-term complications and improving comfort.

Always talk to a vascular specialist before starting any medication. 💙
