Christeena Evans, RN at Azura of Verona
Upon learning of a 30-day notice for a well-loved resident, Christeena, though not currently the resident’s nurse, drew on her deep connection from the early days of our community. She dedicated an hour to a thoughtful conversation with the resident’s Power of Attorney, advocating passionately to keep the resident with us. While the POA’s plans were already in motion, Christeena’s compassion shone through as she skillfully addressed smaller concerns, providing clarity and comfort during a difficult transition.
Her initiative to reach out, coupled with the courage to engage in a meaningful dialogue with the POA, ensured the resident’s needs remained at the forefront. The POA expressed deep gratitude for Christeena’s care and attentiveness, a testament to her ability to foster understanding and trust.
Christeena’s actions exemplify compassion in its truest form—going above and beyond to advocate for those in her care, even when the outcome is uncertain.
