“Why are PTs pretending to be influencers?”
Because influencers are pretending to be PTs. 👀
The amount of pelvic floor advice online from people with zero training is honestly wild.
And unfortunately, confidence on the internet can sound a lot like expertise.
There’s a difference between:
• sharing your experience
and
• giving medical advice
A difference between:
• fitness coaching
and
• rehab
A difference between:
• “this worked for me”
and
• evidence based treatment
So yes… healthcare providers are showing up online more. Because patients deserve accessible education from people actually trained in anatomy, pathology, rehab, and clinical reasoning.
If that makes us “influencers,” fine.
But I’d rather pelvic health information come from licensed professionals than TikTok comment sections.
Okay your turn: what’s the WORST pelvic floor advice you’ve seen online lately? 👇
