Today is World Down Syndrome Day. Down syndrome is a condition that occurs when there is an extra chromosome at birth, which are genes that determine how our body looks and grows. Usually, people are born with 46 chromosomes, but people with Down syndrome have 47 chromosomes. The extra chromosome copy is trisomy 21.

Broad Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center is conveniently located between Harrisburg and Scranton off of I-81 in Frackville. Broad Mountain prides itself in its dedicated staff and its high standards of care.
