Residents and staff “traveled” to Brazil during our monthly travel activity! They enjoyed lively Brazilian music, watched stunning 4K Carnaval videos, sampled traditional drinks and food—including delicious açaí—and even took home Brazil-themed keychains as souvenirs. Everyone had a great time moving to the rhythm of samba! 🇧🇷💃

Residents had an amazing time at Casa Club, enjoying great music, refreshing drinks, and reminiscing about their clubbing days. It was even more special to see families join in, creating meaningful moments and connections together.

A big shout-out to Alberto for stepping in as our “security guard”—checking IDs and adding a fun, interactive touch that made the experience even more memorable!

Success Story: Shafia at Casa de Ramana

After a hospitalization due to RSV, aspiration, and pneumonia, Shafia came to Casa de Ramana for short-term rehabilitation with a goal of regaining her strength and independence. Over four weeks, she worked closely with Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy, focusing on safe swallowing, mobility, endurance, and daily living skills.

With a personalized, pulmonary-focused rehab program and support from her care team, Shafia made incredible progress—regaining her strength, confidence, and ability to safely return home.

We’re proud to have been part of her journey and wish her continued success in her recovery! 💙

This month, our residents “traveled” to Greece as part of our ongoing travel series 🇬🇷✨

They experienced an immersive 4K virtual tour, enjoyed traditional Greek drinks and snacks, and listened to authentic Greek music. To top it off, each resident received an “evil eye” good luck keychain as a special souvenir.

It was a vibrant, culturally enriching experience that encouraged connection, engagement, and sensory stimulation for everyone involved.

Our residents took a wonderful trip to China! 🇨🇳 They enjoyed delicious egg rolls, a variety of traditional cookies, and refreshing drinks. As special travel souvenirs, everyone received fortune cookies and a tassel ornament for good luck. Residents had a great time testing their knowledge with Chinese trivia and listening to beautiful traditional Chinese music as we welcomed the Chinese New Year of the Horse.

What a wonderful time at our Valentine’s Day dance! 💕 Our ladies were gifted beautiful corsages and our gentlemen received boutonnières. Congratulations to Raquel and Charlie, who were crowned this year’s King and Queen of the dance! Guests danced the afternoon away, enjoyed refreshments and cake, and joined in festive fun—including a “guess how many kisses are in the jar” game.

Maria has been a valued member of the Casa De Ramana team since 2023. As a dedicated C.N.A., she brings compassion, positivity, and a smile to every shift. She’s an incredible support to our residents—especially on our Dementia Unit—and we truly appreciate all she does! 💙

Rehab Success Story: Mary was admitted to Casa de Ramana following a cardiology visit due to increased lower-extremity edema and fluid overload, which made transfers and walking difficult at home. Through dedicated work with our PT team, she improved her transfers and gait, participated in group strength and balance sessions, and completed full-body workouts on the NuStep recumbent bike. With OT, Mary also learned compensatory strategies to increase her independence with personal care. After just two weeks of skilled rehabilitation, Mary successfully returned to her assisted living community with continued support through the PACE program.
