**Summer Rummage Sale**

Invictus Forever is holding a rummage sale on Saturday, August 13th from 10am-4pm in the rear parking lot at 273 Union Ave, Framingham (the site of the former Marian High School).

Items for sale include vintage items, clothing, jewelry, books, art, home decor, furniture, toys and games, tools and hardware, electronics, gifts, and more. All proceeds support Invictus Forever’s programs and initiatives to better the lives of individuals with disabilities.

On-site parking is free.

We will accept both cash and credit/debit card.

Back by popular demand, Invictus Forever has teamed up with Plugged In to offer a 2-part drumming circle series. Join us on July 19th and August 2nd from 5-6 pm for an evening of energetic music-making.

Classes will be held in Studio B at the MetroWest YMCA in Framingham. This series is for individuals ages 14 and older. The cost for the entire 2-part series is $35, and participants must register for both sessions. Unfortunately, no refunds are available for missed sessions.

This was our most popular class of our 2021 program series, and it was the fastest to sell out. Spaces are limited, so make sure to sign up before all the spots are taken!

Join us for our final activity of 2021 - a festive celebration of the holidays! An event for all ages, attendees will have the opportunity to experience the holidays and develop new skills through Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s, and winter-themed arts & crafts, music, and games. The entry fee is $5, which helps to cover the cost of supplies and materials.

This event will take place on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 3:00-4:00 pm for all ages. It will be held at MetroWest YMCA, 280 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham, MA 01701.

Don’t forget to sign up for Invictus Forever’s Adaptive Zumba class on Sunday, November 14th at the MetroWest YMCA! The Youth Session (5-12 years-old) will take place from 2:30pm-3:30pm, and the Teen/Adult Session (13+ years-old) will take place from 3:30pm-4:30pm. Registration closes next Saturday, November 13th.

Our Covid protocols remain in place, so all unvaccinated individuals are required to wear a mask unless exempt, and vaccinated individuals, while not required, are strongly encouraged to wear a mask. Our class will be held in the YMCA’s large, full-court gymnasium, so participants will be socially distanced at least 6-10 feet apart.

Registration for our Adaptive Zumba class on November 14 is now open! Zumba is a wonderful way to experience a full-body workout while improving endurance, coordination, stress relief, confidence, and mood. It’s also great for gaining new skills in listening, following directions, and self-expression. Led by certified Zumba instructor Andria DeSimone, this class is sure to get everyone up and moving to the beat!

Registration for our Percussion Circle program on October 17 is now open! This program will incorporate elements of rhythm exploration and teach participants the basics of beat, meter, and tempo. Through rhythmic exercises and games, individuals will gain new skills in creative expression, listening, and communication. Participants will have the opportunity to try a range of instruments, including African djembe drums, tambourines, shakers, and rhythm sticks.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us at our Adaptive Group Fitness program on Sunday! Massive thanks to David Crowley from Adaptive Exercise for leading the class. Another big thanks to our volunteers for lending a hand. We enjoyed welcoming new faces, as well as seeing some returning ones. Our next program, Percussion Circle, on October 17th is sure to be another wonderful program! Keep an eye out for information about that class on our website and social media.

Registration for our Adaptive Group Fitness class on September 19 is now open! In this program, participants will get to experience an adaptive fitness class, which will be tailored to accommodate the challenges they may face in a typical fitness class. Participants will learn functional exercises, maneuver through obstacle courses, and engage in other fun fitness activities. Come and enjoy the benefits of exercise in a social setting!

Note: This program includes a combination of upper and lower body exercises. Individuals who use wheelchairs will be able to participate in this activity. These individuals will be given alternative exercises, as needed, in place of lower body exercises.

**Pop Up Sale Postponed**

In order to allow more time for preparation, we have decided to postpone our Pop Up Sale from this weekend to the late Spring. We don’t yet know when the new dates will be, but we will inform you once they are finalized. We would like to thank everyone who has donated or offered to volunteer. Your support is what helps our organization succeed.

As you start doing your spring cleaning in the coming year, please consider donating in particular furniture, tools, and electronics to our sale.
