❄️ It may be snowy outside, but our newborns are staying snug in beautiful knit hats made with love by the Natick Knitters & Crocheters! ❄️
This wonderful group of local seniors has been creating and donating their handmade hats, mittens, and scarves for decades. Working out of the Natick Community Senior Center, they stitch warmth and care into every piece, and our families feel it. 💗
We’re so grateful for their generous donations to our tiniest patients!

📸 Here are photos of some of our recent newborns in our Beautiful Beginnings Birth Center and Special Care Nursery, showing off their cozy new caps!

If you have dense breast tissue, you are at an increased risk of developing
breast cancer. Unfortunately, dense breast tissue makes breast cancer
screenings more difficult. Automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) is a
secondary screening exam for women who have dense breasts.

🍼🧸 Caring for Our Community’s Growing Families 🍼🧸

Members of our MetroWest Medical Center maternity team attended the Healthy Parent, Happy Baby Community Baby Shower at the Framingham Public Library this week. Our physicians and nurses enjoyed meeting MetroWest families and sharing information about our hospital, our Beautiful Beginnings Birth Center, and our Special Care Nursery.

Our team appreciated the opportunity to connect with expectant and new parents, alongside other local organizations working together to strengthen maternal and family health in our region. We’re grateful to be part of such a meaningful event and honored to support families during this exciting chapter.

📸Pictured are Director of Nursing Jennifer Kingsbury, Dr. Jacquelyn O'Sullivan, Lactation Coordinator Deborah Durgin, Dr. Erich Renner, Dr. William Brazer and Stephanie Mauk, RN.

💜 A Retired Nurse's Legacy of Love 💜

Even in retirement, former MetroWest Medical Center nurse Sharon Arroyo is still wrapping our patients in comfort and compassion.

Sharon spent 39 years caring for patients in our hospital before retiring in 2021—but her dedication never stopped. Several times a year, she returns with handmade quilts for both newborns in our Beautiful Beginnings Birth Center and Special Care Nursery and for adult patients receiving end-of-life care.

Beyond bringing comfort to patients, the quilting brings comfort to her as well. “It’s my therapy,” she says. “It’s a two-sided donation. A lot of these families don’t have much, and they really appreciate getting these little blankets.”

For Sharon, MetroWest Medical Center has special meaning.
“This hospital will always be in my heart. It became my home. It will always be a part of my heart.”

🧵💜 Pictured: Sharon (in white) with a recent batch of quilts, alongside Esperanza Brown, PT; Virginia Ford, RN; Debbie Durgin, RN; and Juliane Reczek, RN.

Thank you, Sharon, for continuing to bring warmth, dignity, and love to our patients—one quilt at a time. 💜🧵
